You're right it's nothing new. But that doesn't make it right. Not to mention what the article brought up, other teams have held multiple events. If he's going to adhere to the rules, it has to apply to everybody else. Napoleon will enforce the rules whenever he deems it necessary, kind of like his on-ice product. The NBA welcomes these kind of things.

That's a waterfall in Bosnia. I forget the name of it.
-
Nice! That's definitely not western North Carolina.

Thank you! When you take so many, you're bound to come up with a couple of good ones just by chance. Sitting around waterfalls while waiting for a good shot never gets old.

Napoleon at it again. This man is out of control................. http://deadspin.com/the-nhl-threatened-to-fine-the-lightning-if-they-didnt-1778925655

It makes zero sense for the Panthers. There's more to Gudbranson than just advanced stats. The new owner is making it all about advanced stats. He said any trades will have to go through Tallon even though he's not the GM any more. I highly doubt he OK'ed this deal and wouldn't be surprised to see him walk. Too bad, this team had such high hopes. Learn never to trust management. Gudbranson took a one year deal recently for a discounted rate because the Panthers told him they would give him a long term deal around mid-season. Or........ what they really meant was they wanted to give him a cheap deal to make him look more enticing for a trade partner. I hope he fires his agent for that.

In Florida's defense, Matheson will be a top 4 next year. But then again, Soupy did say yesterday that he will test the market.

And Vancouver just said today their main goal in the offseason is to bolster their offense. They did just revamp their analytics department.

I don't get that.

And people wonder why players and coaches read from a script every time they're interviewed.

Like I've said, and even you mentioned, it all depends on the setting and it also depends on the person doing the hiring. I made mention earlier that it's not a clear cut answer whether or not a follow up letter is beneficial, some of it needs to be put on the employee to determine what kind of person they're dealing with. It's just not fair for nfreeman to completely dismiss my post simply because he doesn't agree. No matter how we look at it, best of luck to Wildcard!

A large portion of my friends are business owners, I've had talks with most of them about how the workforce has changed in the last 5, 10, 20 years along with the mindset of employees in that time frame. Most of them will tell you that they don't care for the potential employees that go out of their way to try and impress. That includes follow up letters, overdressing and sucking up. They'd rather see somebody come in wearing casual attire and speak from the heart. Most will tell you 90% of the potential employees are all the same, overdressed (giving false impressions) and the same scripted answers like they've been up all night researching what the latest trends are in job interviews. You don't have to take my word for it. Wild asked for input, I gave it. But you may want to consider the fact that my side may be a little more obvious than you think. Asking for input and dismissing anything remotely opposed to the common view, isn't asking for input at all. It's confirmation bias.

It's one thing when something is misspoken and it comes out derogatory, in that case I still don't think a press release is warranted. But I don't even know how what he said can possibly be taken in an offensive manner. Who is offended, robots? Humans? If not offensive, then why? I don't know if the Bills are purposely attracting attention to themselves, or the media is that bored out of their minds. I agree with those above, I don't care either.

OT - Buffalo Bandits lacrosse talk goes right here.
JJFIVEOH replied to PalmTreeMafia's topic in The Aud Club
Hell yeah, same here! Seasons 1,2 and 3, what a blast. I remember the very first home game, they never opened the upper level not expecting much of a crowd. The demand was through the roof, not only did they open the upper level for the next game, I'm pretty sure they sold out every game those first three years. It wasn't very commercialized back then, the tickets were cheap, it made the whole experience great. That was back in the day when there guys had regular jobs and made $150 for each game. We've, I think the experience has changed. Those Bandits games were more exciting than almost all hockey games I've been to since. If it's you and not he game, then it's both of us. -
But if I were to send a letter, it wouldn't be an Email. That just shows laziness. If you're gonna do it, do it right.
-
I don't like suck ups, it's just the way I see it. The interviewee shouldn't need to have to send a letter after they've had a chance to evaluate the situation and let the employer know they're still interested. If I were the employer I'd give them the rundown of the job and gauge their interest on the spot. I know I'm not the only one. ;)
-
I think Emrick meant to say Darren Pang and not Daren Puppa.
-
Offsides challenges absolutely have to go next year! This has hurt the sport so much this year.
-
By the way, I'm not implying anybody is a suck up, I'm sure the intentions are good. Just noting how some potential employers might view it.
-
Not trying to play devil's advocate here, but I would view somebody sending me a thank you letter for an interview would seem like sucking up. Concluding an interview in a professional manner should be all that's needed. Personally, if I sent a thank you letter (or Email) and didn't get the job, I'd be left wondering if it had anything to do with me sucking up. I guess it all depends on the person who conducted the interview.

As menacing as they look, they're not poisonous. But try telling that to the person that has one stuck to their face! What's with all the lights in that second shot, you near an airport?

Man, I'm getting old.

So, start Elliott next game?
