OT - The 2016 "What the heck are kids saying" language thread

I agree with you on that. It's amazing and surreal. -
Miami, looking south down Biscayne Blvd. Mouth of Miami River Looking north from the American Airlines Arena Looking south from the AAA. And a little glimpse of what you could have if you were worth 8 figures or more (which goes for pretty much every place in the Coral Gables/Coconut Grove area.

Road to the end of Matheson Hammock Park, it gets flooded often at high tide hence the mangrove roots. Miami, from the same park's manmade atoll pool. Yes, wild peacocks. Mouth of Miami River Some big awards ceremony for NBC Universo/Telemundo @ Brickell Point.

I did another bike ride in Miami on Thursday. Swapped some new shoes on the bike, went with a tubeless setup. Actually a UST setup so I don't need any sealant. A little better rolling, but still a wide mountain bike tire. Far from a road tire, but not as aggressive as a full on trail bike. Went from downtown Miami all the way down to the tip of Black Creek Trail. It is the end, can't go any further. It's in the Mangrove Preserve just east of Homestead. Covered two trails on the way, Commodore and Old Cutler Trail. Pretty much straight through the heart of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. Those two towns are a must see if you're ever in the area. One of the few nice places for a bike ride in SoFL. Also one of the very few 'manicured' areas you'll see down here. Most of the roads are covered with canopies of banyan trees, everywhere are Brazilian pepper trees, slash pines, southern magnolias............ you can pretty much travel around that area all day and not get sunburn because it's covered most of the day. Believe it or not, palm trees aren't as dominant as people think. Just that 99% of Florida is so overly manicured it just seems that way. So many animals you'd think you're in a jungle. I think the GPS tracking gets freaked out if you're surrounded by buildings, regardless of signal strength. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/9272428 Heading into Miami The trail to the end This is the end

OT - The 2016 "What the heck are kids saying" language thread

I can understand the evolution of language, it's an ever changing process. But, people now use it in the context the complete opposite of what it means. That's not evolution. -
Not to mention the average age of our top 5 scorers is 21. Then throw in the fact that the opening day roster had ten players who weren't there before, not including the head coach. To backup LGR's comments, the lack of scoring had nothing to do with the fact that they don't have enough scorers. And I'm still leery about the blood clot issues.

Imma keep an eye on this thread. It literally drives me nuts. -
I never said Jack is a selfish douche nozzle. Kane and Toews were both drafted by the Blackhawks, as was Malkin and Crosby by Pittsburgh, as was Reinhart and Either by Buffalo. Hossa wasn't brought in as a franchise player. As far as Malkin and Crosby, with the exception of the last couple of months the argument could be made that the Pens have been a better team with one of those guys out of the lineup. Sorry if I missed it. Your points reflect mine.

I'll have to give it a 7.6/10. I agree with Eleven, it has a soccer touch to it but with an old school feel. Not bad, I'm surprised they went with such an overhaul.

Has anybody mentioned how this might affect Eichel? Eichel knows he is the franchise player if he can live up to the potential, he knows this team is his moving forward. What does that say to him when you bring in another franchise player? This is Eichel's team, leave it alone. Save the money and bolster the foundation.

Can somebody tell me what they're doing Canalside? Are the keeping their bowling skills sharp during the offseason? https://www.instagram.com/p/BGId1oCi07U/?r=468582170

Scotch, cigar and a water nymph. I could go for that!

Congrats!! Now it's time to get fat again and enjoy the tasty stuff. Cool, so you went with the hardtail. That's the same route I took. Full suspension bikes have really changed in the last 5-10 years and the prices have followed suit. Wasn't going to cough up that kind of cash at least until I move somewhere where I can appreciate it. Very few trails down here and ZERO hills makes for limited mountain biking. I still have my old full suspension bike that's really outdated, but still really fun to ride every once in a while. Good idea, get her in the habit early on. Not enough parents do that nowadays.

What kind of bike did you end up getting? Nice! Love the pics. All you guys and your deciduous trees. Getting her hooked early?

Well, I guess you did both. A 13K up a 13er. That's gotta be tough. I live at 14' above sea level, when I go hiking at 5500-6500' it's very noticeable, the thin air. I can't imagine @13,000'. I remember doing Snowbird, UT when I was a kid, I think that was 12,000' but that wasn't a hike, just a tram ride to the top. Great pics, I pictured that area to be a little more brown.

If you wanted to compare his playoff stats to his regular season stats in terms of PPG, wouldn't you average only the regarding seasons in which he actually played in the playoffs? If I remember correctly, he was well over a point per game player in the regular season for most of the years he went to the playoffs. Yes, this right here.
-
Josie, anybody that can do what you do should be proud. That takes some dedication. Bio, I'm assuming the 13er means it's a 13k? Or does it mean you hiked a 13,000 mountain? Awesome, pics by the way!

All four of those shots are great, but #1 and #4 are the best. You've done this before.

I want to see Pillsbury win a Conn Smythe, just to see the Toronto media squirm all offseason.
-
They aren't, or they can't. Either way it's obvious.
-
NBC can't get companies to by commercial time as it is. If they could, we wouldn't be watching the same five commercials the entire postseason.
-
I'm guessing those pics are in Nova Scotia.

It's going to be so hard watching a game knowing the pre-determined outcome.

Bettman had a hand in making the deal, Bettman has a hand in enforcing it. They also have a hand in keeping many from seeing the game on national TV because NBCSN isn't a national network. They might have something to stand on if the games were actually broadcast on NBC.
