  1. There was an extensive investigation. There were witnesses. There was video. If any of these allegations were true, or at least accurate, the city would have pressed more serious charges. Alas, the most severe charge is misdemeanor trespassing.
  2. To be fair, yes I was kidding to an extent. It seems like some people I've talked to have chosen to use every possible situation to justify their dislike for Kane. Including his social media antics; even though social media antics aren't anything new to professional athletes any more. Social media culture? I kid....... In your defense I completely understand. You've taken the whole package that is Evander Kane into account when judging his character. I understand. I've done the same thing to football players and it's led me to care just enough about the NFL to play fantasy.
  3. Well, there was the tracksuit.....................
  4. I hear ya. I've made a few long trips in Miami. I'll fill my trunk bag with two 32oz bottles of Gatorade and fill them up with water along the way. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've finished off nine of those and never once had to piss. But like Robin said, creating your own wind I don't find myself drenched in sweat.
  5. I can see where you, as well as many others, might think that he may never change. Because he has had chances to grow up several times over. So I can understand the hesitation to welcome him back regardless of this recent situation. I'm not entirely convinced he'll grow up either. The only positive I see (not sure I'd call it a positive) is that this situation is more serious than his past issues of locker room antics and social media nonsense. This should be enough to known some sense into anybody with common sense. At this point I hope you're wrong, but I'm not entirely convinced you are. Man, if he doesn't grow up, going to Vegas would be a train wřeck.
  6. I understand where you're coming from. Drama seems to follow him no matter where he goes, whether it's his own fault or not. I came into last season with the understanding that nothing was going to be held against the players and coaches, in my mind. Coming off a historically bad year, and consecutive seasons that offensively ranked as the worst in 80 years in the league.......... the team had a new coach, a new system, half of the opening day roster was new to the city, the Eichel hype. It was a throw away season. Kane was coming off major shoulder surgery, but his game needs to be refined. This year is a clean slate where the expectations are different. This is the year I wanted to see what Kane could do, if he could take it to the next level or continue on the way he has; pure talent with lots of holes in his game. I've always been the kind of person that doesn't think athletes have to be role models by default. That's not to say I think they should go out and make fools of themselves. Kane is immature and needs to grow up. I can't fault him for wanting to have a life, but now he has to realize it's not going to work. In actuality, he probably could have a life if he wasn't always putting himself in position to be a target because of his social media antics. But, that backfired and now he's going to have to tone it down if he wants to continue his hockey career. But, at this point, we don't know the full details of this situation and we may never know them. It's not that I always trust the system to always make the right decision, but I think it's more unfair to hold it against him even though he may come out of this with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. I hope he stays, I'm really curious how he's going to handle this and how he is going to improve his game this year. At this point his trade value is low and it's not worth dumping him for something low. Start the year fresh and keep him on a short leash.
  7. I'm also going to add that any app or universal diet tracker isn't going to be 100% accurate in telling you what you need to be eating. Probably not even close. Those are great for keeping track, but not so much in planning what you should be eating. There are so many factors that come into play that not one person will be the same. It might give you a baseline but only you can determine what kind of adjustments need to be made. Trial and error is the only way to find out. I can't tell you how many people I know that started consuming many more calories than they thought they needed, only to actually lose more weight and feel much healthier. Especially if you're an active person. If you're an overly active person, lowering caloric intake should be even less of a concern.
  8. I think we've been through this test before, but they've updated it to reflect only the current candidates. I think the "themes" is new too, or at least updated. Be sure to expand on the additional questions. http://www.isidewith.com/elections/2016-presidential-quiz
  9. I'll let the legal system work it out before passing judgment on somebody.
  10. I'm inferring that the county has had weeks to investigate this. They have witnesses, they have video. Most places don't take sexual harassment lightly, so if the county/city still doesn't have enough evidence to press charges even after all of this................ I'm going to trust the system. Are you inferring he was doing something more serious than misdemeanor trespassing even though he wasn't charged with them? (Serious question, not trying to sound snarky)
  11. I think we, as a society, should have learned by now not to jump to conclusions when situations like this arise where the media has often times lead us in a direction based on assumptions. Until Kane is prosecuted of a crime, nobody should hold any judgment. Does he put himself in bad situations? Perhaps. But that isn't the point, and not a reason to believe he did anything wrong. Apparently the trespassing charge was the only crime significant enough to warrant an arrest, and that is a misdemeanor. After weeks of investigation, and that is the worst of the charges................ even if Kane is found guilty, I don't think I am going to hold that against him. If Kane was sexually harassing women, dragging them around by their throats, throwing them into cars, a misdemeanor trespassing charge would be the least of his concerns right now. Kane needs to grow up, but he absolutely doesn't deserve the treatment he is getting from the media and fans. (Disclaimer, I am not directing this at anybody in particular on this forum)
  12. Just glad to see Jhonas find a job.
  13. I agree, it's irrelevant to the discussion.
  14. You're right, my bad. Don't know why I thought Al went to Toronto.
  15. You're right, I am for it because it wasn't racially motivated. Fair enough, we'll just have to agree to disagree. ;)
  16. I'm not for or against it. I think we've crossed the line of being too politically correct when I highly doubt the statement was meant to have any racial connotations in the first place.
  17. Don't the Leaves already have two goaltenders? They also signed Montoya.
  18. Are we seriously discussing the offensiveness of the term lynching, when used in a context completely unrelated to the subject, in a thread about a black man?
  19. I figured Amy Schumer would have been the token liberal comedian they put on stage. I guess she's run her course.
  20. Running vs. Biking. These are just my opinions from my own personal experience. I started running a few years ago, mainly as a warmup for gym activities. Then when weight didn't start coming off, I started running more. Then I mixed up sprinting, jogging, high incline............. (all of this on the treadmill). I eventually made biking more of my routine on non-gym days. Now I'm doing some long distance trips on a mountain bike. In my opinion, the running has helped my biking experience more than the biking has helped my running experience. I think the biking has really helped my endurance though. I have noticed a significant improvement in my cardio health from the running. All of this could be because I don't bike as often as I run though. Taro is right about the calories. If you're not taking in enough your body will start consuming muscle cells which will do more harm than good. Bio, nice choice of bikes!
  21. Kelly O'Donnell interviewing Mouzella Bell, delegate from Louisiana and Bernie supporter who said that he didn't sway her vote to Hillary.............. "Come election day what would you do when it comes time to vote?"............... "I would vote my heart, not my brain".
  22. If I ever had any hope/respect for Hillary, it all went out the window when she hired DWS. Good thing I didn't have any hope/respect for Hillary.
  23. I can use it more than once?
  24. Kev, those are some killer waterfall shots. I'm jealous, there's nothing like hiking through the woods searching for waterfalls. Especially ones big enough where you can hear them a half mile away, so relaxing. \ Bio, I always thought that area starts getting real brown around this time of year. Your pics are so green. Where's that at?
  25. Look what I found in the pool skimmer.
