Know what would be awesome? Since watching the Olympics.......................... throw this into a velodrome.
-
So does this mean EJ is out of the running as the starter?
-
Sure

Unless whites do it to blacks, then it's racist and bigoted. There's that double standard thing again. Focusing on certain racial or demographical groups is discriminatory in nature. Those who are responsible for creating, and supporting BLM are the same people who want to end discrimination. They are, in fact, guilty of their own cause and only creates divisiveness in the process.

Can't have Phelps playing in BFLO, what with all his legal troubles.

That's a great shot! Vancouver Island and Olympic Natl Park have to offer some of the best photo opportunities in the world.

Yup, I'm impressed. I get a feeling that will end once track & field starts. Later at night when some of the stations go back to regular broadcasting I switch to the Roku. That's nice because there is almost no commentating and the camera views are a little more candid.

The racist and bigot labels never get old. Ironic, that in the overall picture, the people that want to end racism are the ones continuously bringing it up and painting with a broad brush. I was being sarcastic, it really is getting old.

A head coach wanting multiple duties never works out. Patrick, if you want to be in Hockey Ops, go be a GM somewhere and let somebody else coach.

Seriously, us Gen X'ers got the raw deal here.
-
Anybody in particular that you're referring to?
-
That, I can't disagree with.

Atta boy, I knew you couldn't maintain a serious, adult conversation. If you actually asked me to expand on my comment, it had absolutely NOTHING to do with what I find more important. You have no idea what I consider more pressing issues. Funny part about it is, just a few short posts back YOU were the one implying that all of my examples were meaningless because YOU didn't find them important. Before pointing fingers at the constant battles you and I engage in, you might want to look in the mirror to find the common denominator. Because you're guilty of it with others.......... me, not so much. Now go put me back on ignore you hypocrite.
-
Here is the rub. I see the government using global warming as an excuse to further restrict things that have little to no bearing on our climate all while ignoring more pressing issues that greatly affect the future health of this planet.

I'm sorry, there is absolutely no way Chunsong is 20 years old. I did a search to see other pictures and it's not just one bad picture. They're all like that, if not worse. I feel creepy just doing it, like big brother just put me on some list.

We did read the same article. I was just citing where the hole isn't any smaller than it was and that it fluctuates greatly without notice. CFC's does destroy ozone, but the direct impact from man is still in question. That hole they say should recover by 2050-2065 was initially predicted to recover by 2000.
-
Scientists are now finding that the holes in the ozone layer shrink and grow quite rapidly, even after the ban on CFC's. In fact the largest and smallest holes on record have been in the last 16 years, twice within two years of each other. As time goes by, they're finding out it's more cyclical and can change massively without notice. https://www.environment.gov.au/protection/ozone/ozone-science/ozone-layer Not saying we should un-ban CFC's. But this is just another instance where man might not have been as much to blame as once thought.

In the grand scheme of things, I think that man is insignificant when Mother Nature comes into play. I believe that man is capable of great things, I also think that the majority couldn't care less. We can't play god, why try to stop something we're not sure we can stop? Instead of trying to play god, why not just go along with it and adapt to what is dealt to us.

You would have saved yourself an awful lot of typing if you would recognize the fact that the knee-jerk reactions I was referring to are the inevitable policies I fear will take place in the near future. I was hoping you would have understood that the first three times I repeated myself. You didn't want to discuss global warming. I discussed it for two pages and you chose not to partake until I criticized government. I'll say this again, there is absolutely no way any scientist can predict what our climate will do because man simply doesn't have the power to transform the natural cycles of our planet. No scientist can say without a doubt that this hasn't happened in the past. Of course I'm referring to climatologists, not just universally labeled "scientists" that the media loves to quote as experts in the field. Most of them will agree man has an impact, most of them can't honestly say it is significant. Those that do are the ones that get air time. You can read all the stats and data that you want, most of them have some legitimacy. But none of them can conclude what will happen in the near future. I'll repeat myself once again. there is a difference between cleaning up our environment and making policy based on unproven theories. I love technology, I love advancement. I'm not sure how many times I have to say that I have nothing against moving forward. As to your first statement, I find nothing dangerous about pursuing initiatives to combat it........................because I don't believe in it! You're not going to combat it, Mother Nature is more powerful than you can fathom and she is in control. I'm fully on board with advanced technology. The difference between you and me is, I want to find ways to live with it.......... you want the government to find ways to stop it. Guess what happens if we spend years trying to stop it only to find out it really wasn't us in the first place. Yes, that's right. We're still stuck in the same boat, wasted money and still crying about the weather ruining out lives. Guess what happens if we take that time and money to improve technology so we're better able to cope with severe weather................. we're better off regardless of whether or not man is responsible. Now do you see my point about making policy based on unproven theories? Stop making policies hoping to stop something, make policies to improve what is already here. You know......... it's kinda like that wall thing that liberals so vehemently hate.
-
Not sure what's left to add.
-
You never were talking about global warming, and I'm through repeating myself.
-
Don't forget transfats. I'm just assuming we're done talking about global warming.
-
All I said was that nobody is against advancement in technology, which would logically include myself. You took offense to it. And now you seem to think I'm against it despite what was originally stated. My fear is that these "step ins" will become (are becoming) more invasive.
