  1. In order for a team to give up a real asset to dump, say, a $6MM cap hit for 2 seasons after this one, it would have to be: - a team that thinks it’s pretty close to a Cup run, - a team that is capped out, - a team that has a big move for a difference-making player lined up that just requires that cap space to close the deal, - a team with sufficient picks/prospects to acquire both that player and the cap space AND - a team whose GM/owner don’t mind selling future assets to take a big swing in the present. I haven’t done anything like a full analysis on this, but I’d guess there are less than a half-dozen teams that meet those criteria.
  2. Sabres record this year with Mr. Anderson in net: 5-2. Sabres record with anyone else in net: 9-27. Sabres record with Anderson or Toker: 9-10. Sabres record with anyone else: 5-19. FFS. All they needed was a credible NHL goalie and they’d be at deLuca .500 and a 4-game winning streak away from a playoff spot. Great work KA!
  3. Did TT get another shift after returning to the bench? As others have noted, Krebs looks great on the half-wall on the PP. VO isn't getting that spot back until his one-timer has 100% returned, and maybe not even then.
  4. There is no question about them keeping Diggs, and both are great WRs, but Hill is a very different player from Diggs. Hill can catch a short one and fly past everyone, as we regretfully saw up close and personal last Sunday. Diggs' moneymaker is getting open and making the tough catches. I agree with @Buffalonill that the Bills need the speed element at WR that Hill provides. I would guess it's more of a bird-in-the-hand situation -- i.e. Dorsey can accept the Giants' offer to become OC right now, and the Bills might not have committed to him yet to make him the OC -- although if that's the case, and he is the Bills' top choice, it would be poor management to lose him for taht reason.
  5. She didn't take my name, and I don't have much chest hair. But the rest of this is spot on.
  6. This is all true, and as I've mentioned, KC was playing so well it might not have mattered, but the Bills made mistakes on the kickoff and on the defense they played on those 2 plays. Better choices would've increased their percentages of getting out of there alive.
  7. Not the only ones. It would be insane IMHO to fire either of the coordinators, and the kind of ill-considered bozo move that Ralph Wilson or Russ Brandon would make. I think there is zero possibility that either of them is fired, although it seems reasonably likely that Daboll will get a HC job and somewhat possible that Frazier will (although that game probably hurt Frazier's chances). I also think they'll learn from their mistakes last night and improve. Yes. There is no Aaron Donald or TJ Watt or similar game-changer on D. I will also note that it wasn't that long ago that Andy Reid had a reputation of being unable to win clutch games: https://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/291806/why-does-chiefs-coach-andy-reid-struggle-in-the-playoffs Yes to this too. These teams are extremely close right now. Every little bit can make the difference.
  8. There is no question that the coaching staff blew the last 13 seconds. But still. The franchise is probably in the healthiest position it has ever been in: - MVP-level QB who is young, built like the terminator, under contract and getting better each year. - Great coach who is young, under contract, loved by his players and has rebuilt the franchise from a 17-year running joke into an elite NFL organization. Good veteran players with multiple options take less money to eithe stay here or come here. - Well respected GM who is young, under contract, highly professional and has built the FO into a model organization that is now getting its junior people poached by other teams seeking to emulate the Bills. - Deep pocketed, stable, committed owners who don't order QB changes, diddle the cheerleaders or get arrested with briefcases full of painkillers. - New stadium likely on the way that will keep the team here for the foreseeable future. 10 years ago this would've seemed like a miraculous outcome. Halle-freakin-lujah.
  9. I love McD, but it has to be said: a Belichick team would never, EVER have played super-soft D on Hill and Kelce and given them those huge cushions with 13 seconds left. Given how well KC was playing, it might not have mattered, but that and the kickoff were possibly catastrophically poor heat-of-the-moment decision making.
  10. Let the record reflect that I agree with swamp on a Bills loss. Josh has become one with the matrix. And the D (and the offensive line) got worked. I also agree with @Dreams Burn Down that lousy play-calling cost them a critical few possessions and, on a night when Mahomes and KC were in the zone, that was the biggest factor. What an incredible game.
  11. Dude.
  12. Dude.
  13. Insane.
  14. It’s go time.
  15. Here we go. Time for JA to write the legend.
  16. Come in D. Pull your weight!
  17. Awesome.
  18. Can’t agree with the statement on the D. KC is carving them up. But I agree that the O play calling stinks. False. It’s 2 penalties on the Bills and 1 on KC.
  19. Another wasted possession where our MVP doesn’t get the ball on 3rd and short. Bad call Daboll. they are only going to get the ball 2 or 3 more times. They need to score every GD time or they’re toast.
  20. Cannot waste any more midfield possessions. Questionable play calling on that last one.
  21. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!
  22. Please forgive my attempted witticisms. Tell me: other than "pacing for 40 points" based on a 37-game sample, what about Hall's time with the Sabres would you say was better than terrible? How would you describe his play? I would describe it as 5% to 10% more effective than Bjork's play this season, minus the mediocre penalty-killing. He was good at carrying the puck up ice on the wing at speed and then doing nothing with it. Otherwise he was invisible.
