GDT GDT: Buffalo at Chicago 8:30 pm ET, 1/5/2016
nfreeman replied to Doohicksie's topic in The Aud Club
Good man. -
No -- I just have them on different TVs. I owned the Roku (regular, not stick) first and was quite happy with it, but I needed something for a different TV and the fire stick was on sale for something really cheap (like $20), so I took a flyer on it. The 2 of them are more or less equivalent.
-
I have a Roku and an Amazon fire stick in addition to the chromecast, and the Roku and the fire stick are IMHO both much easier to use than the chromecast.
-
I freaking hate chromecast.
-
They wouldn't.

The payoff is at about 1:10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJXPXTaVlMY

Not sure we have enough good play by Zemgus at any position to say definitively that he's better at one vs the other. I do think that with Larsson out, Zemgus has maybe his last and best chance to prove himself in Buffalo as a good contributor at forward.

It is kinda interesting that DDB may be buying into the notion that the team will be better off with Eichel, Reino, ROR and Zemgus all playing center -- even if that means that one of ROR and Reino is not in the "top 6." I kinda think Carrier is probably resting and will be in over D-Lo or Grant when the puck drops.

Reinhart.

I will 100% accept your knowledge on carbon fiber vs Kevlar -- but I don't think that is a meta observation.

Brewing goaltender controversy? Sabres get points with Nilsson in goal
nfreeman replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
It occurs to me that GMTM, unlike his predecessor, has done a pretty good job in finding backup goalies -- both Ocho and Nilsson have been quite good. -
What time is the game and who are they playing, ya hoser?

Sweet '16 Final: Eichel (OT) vs. Eichel (top shelf)
nfreeman replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
I went top shelf, where mama hides 'em. PA: when do the polls close? EDIT: per the other thread, the polls close at noon tomorrow. -
Matthews-Marner-Nylander is a better young forward core than Eichel-Reino-Nylander. NHL goalies should be subject to height and weight limits (like 6'0", 190 lbs) and should wear Kevlar form fitting body armor instead of current goalie pads. The state of the NHL game is mediocre. Jack Edwards is good at hockey PBP.

OK -- time to take it down a notch. Marvelo -- for your part, if you're going to throw around an offensive term, you should introduce some facts to back it up.

Yes indeed -- and I think it's worth noting again that TT led, going into the Jets game (in which he didn't play), the #7 scoring offense and #6 TD-scoring offense in the NFL -- and did so without Watkins and during a season in which (i) the OC got fired and (ii) there was a full-blown Bills clown show/power struggle/soap opera roaring along. Give TT a good, big WR opposite Watkins who presents a big target and a home run threat, and a healthy Watkins, and some continuity and stability behind the scenes, and a respectable D, and a professional coach, and the streak will be over. What is this based on? Because she married a wealthy man?

The injuries have created openings for: - Reino -- at #2 center with decent-to-good wings - Zemgus -- at #3 center - Bailey Seize the day, boys.

Whoa.

I voted "least of our problems." I see him as a pretty solid NHL starter right now and still with substantial upside. It's his 1st full season as a starter, and he plays with the pressure of pretty much knowing that his team isn't going to score until the 2nd period is mostly over. I kinda feel like the shootout thing will self-correct over time, although I also think it's in his head now and might not improve for a while. They just have quite a few more pressing issues.
-
I am reasonably confident/optimistic/delusional that firing DDB will be GMTM's decision -- but that he, like 90+% of the other NHL GMs, will discuss it first with the owner, so that the owner (i) doesn't get blindsided by hearing it on the radio and (ii) has the opportunity to ask questions.

I have to believe that TP knows he needs to bring in Coughlin or someone similar as an adviser if the Bills are to have any credibility.

Sweet '16: SabreSpace selects its Goal of the Year
nfreeman replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
Regarding Rayzor: I've noticed that every time the Sabres score, in the immediate aftermath, while he's describing the goal, Rayzor says "[player X]'s [number]th goal of the season -- and it's a big one." -
Yikes. That sounds bad. Yes indeedly. Separately: what happened to Kulikov?
-
That sounds awesome. Rome is a fantastic location to sit around in an outdoor cafe. Good luck!

I'm fine with Lynn-Bradley, but only if the QB is TT or someone demonstrably better. If it's EJ or Cardale, I'm out.
