True, and fair. However, Atlanta was terrible every year and the Sabres picked him up right after an historical and intentional bottoming out. He's not a franchise-altering player. I do think though that his game adds a lot, especially to a playoff team with a young franchise player.

If anyone says the Sabres "equalized" in a game instead of tied it up, he's going into the SabreSpace dungeon with the gimp.

And Lucic has generally been part of winning teams. Not a coincidence IMHO. It's good for Eichel to have Kane around just like it's good for McD to have Lucic around.

Certainly McK & Friedman's reports make me think a trade is more likely. Still, like all hockey reporters, they report plenty of scuttlebutt that doesn't turn into anything despite being reasonably well sourced. It will be an interesting next 30 days, to be sure.

Yes indeedly. Very entertaining. Although I have to admit I've recently watched a few of the "Fast & Furious" movies and have enjoyed them. Vin Diesel is an awful actor, but overall the movies have great pace and are very good action thrillers IMHO.

I guess one factor is that they'd need pretty much a whole new supporting cast for the post-BB period, as Mike would be gone (and his whole plot line is a huge part of the show, and often the more entertaining part) and presumably Kim, Chuck and the others are still back in ABQ. Unless the show is getting big ratings at that point, it's hard to see them rebooting it to that degree.

I think the Sabres cannot assume that Okposo will be back until they see him on the ice. There is a lot we don't know about Kane, most significantly (i) what he's said to the Sabres about signing an extension with them and (ii) what the Sabres think about his ability and willingness to stay out of trouble. If both of those factors have the right answer, they need to keep him, IMHO.

So I was a few episodes behind and got caught up over the past couple of days. Good stuff. I wonder if the show's creators have decided to wrap it up maybe after next season, as it seems like the pace of the narrative towards the Breaking Bad timeline has accelerated somewhat. Jimmy has turned the corner and is becoming Saul -- harder-hearted, more desperate, etc. Kim has noticed it and doesn't like what she sees, presaging their breakup -- which in turn will probably bring us more Saul and less Jimmy. Nacho seems to be getting ready to make a move on his boss, which will probably put the boss into the wheelchair (and Nacho into the ground, which is too bad, as he is a great character). We'll see.

This still sounds very shaky as to whether he will regain full health, let alone be able to play NHL hockey this fall.

Serious question: why does this matter? It's not like TP has been reluctant to jettison poor performers who have long-term contracts. I think giving out fat contracts makes the Sabres a more attractive destination for top candidates.

I think it would be a mistake to trade Reino this early in his career, especially before we see what a good coach can do with him. However, if the new coach delivers good overall results and feels that Reino is best used at wing, and Reino delivers another 18-25-43 season, I'd be fine with trading him if it brings back a good defenseman.

I don't think Peterson is going to sign with the Sabres, and I don't think Vegas would give the Sabres anything for Lehner -- certainly not a good defenseman.
