I too agree with this, and with @dudacek’s additional color, although JB has been here for 3 years, not 4.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
nfreeman replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
Certainly it would've been different in someone else's hands, but I think there are quite a few scenes where MJ looks like a jerk. In any case, though, his intensity is still there and very compelling IMHO. (I think he has whisky and a cigar going pretty much all day, every day, just to take the edge off.) "I hated Isiah." "I took offense at being compared with Drexler." His reaction when he was asked about Pippen's migraine in game 7 vs the Pistons. Great stuff for a documentary. -

The Michael Jordan documentary on espn is flawed but still really good IMHO. -
Strong move by @Crosschecking.

I thought John Brown had a number of terrific plays last year. Separately: while I don't dispute the number of drops the Bills had, I think there was something either upthread or floating around elsewhere that essentially indicated that the high number of drops didn't translate into that much in terms of reduced scoring.

Well, of the 2 posts you responded to, one was unquestionably a domestic political post and the other was an international political post. Your response looked like a combination of the two. This thread is better suited for discussion of the virus, its impact on the people here, etc. Discussion of the government's response (federal or state) to the virus should stay in the politics club.

Moved some posts to the politics club.

"The airing of grievances" was nothing short of genius.

The Curious Case Of the 1993-1994 Buffalo Sabres
nfreeman replied to Palm Trees And Taxes's topic in The Aud Club
On a somewhat related note, Scotty Bowman was on WGR last week for a pretty long and enjoyable interview. It's in the audio vault if anyone is so inclined. -
Tommy B. and Cloutier. I loved Miller but I'm generally inclined towards prior generation goalies, who didn't get to wear huge brick walls as their pads.

Very good, and long, article by TBN alumnus Tyler Dunne on Sammy Watkins: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2889029-what-sammy-watkins-believes Holy mackerel is Watkins a space cadet. He seems like a decent guy though -- although it was clearly another idiotic move by Doug Whaley to sell the farm to get him, as Watkins was nowhere near ready to play a leading role on an NFL team when he was younger.

Korab, Teppo and Risto.

That was great. I hope we get Gaethje vs Khabib soon.

Why do you think Woody is wrong that the numbers are going to be the same? On what basis is this "patently false?" And in response to Liger's "several million", Woody said that the numbers are going to be the same either way -- not that re-opening would increase the numbers by several million, or that he was fine with a differential of that magnitude. As for "ham-fisted" -- you've now insulted 2 posters. Why? Because they disagree with you on something?

But @Wyldnwoody44 didn't say that. He said this: In other words: the point of social distancing isn't to prevent people from getting the virus, it's to prevent too many people from getting it at once and thus overwhelming the HC system. The HC system is far less taxed at present than was expected to be the case, even when social distancing is factored in. If we are at the point where re-opening would not overtax the HC system -- and no one knows the answer on that, but we'll find out pretty soon as most states are re-opening -- then keeping social distancing in effect will not reduce the total number of deaths from the virus. In the meantime, you've insulted someone who was working brutal hours on the front lines against this virus, was highly stressed out and was here looking for some friendship and support.

McAdoo was an NBA MVP and was better than PLF, although not at the same historic level as Dominik, Bruce or OJ. Barry Sanders was the only RB I've seen that was in the same ballpark as OJ -- and I say that even though Thurman is my all-time favorite Bill. OJ was probably about as dominant as Dominik -- in both cases their teams were built around them.
-
I too was a big fan of Bruce's but he was certainly a bit more...high maintenance than McKee. To be fair, he was also a better and more dominant player.

Great hockey documentary. Everyone in this thread would definitely enjoy it.

The team already has Dahlin or Howie on the top PP. Boxy could carry it and pass it a little, had a very good slapper and was the absolute worst defenseman in the D zone that has ever dressed regularly for the Sabres. Spacek wasn't great but was pretty solid on both ends. McKee is one of my all-time favorite Sabres.

Instant karma's gonna get you...

Gentlemen. Soupy had 2.5 good seasons for the Sabres, before which he was a train wreck in the D zone (substantially worse than Howie) and back-and-forth from Rochester, and after which he was traded at the deadline by the LQ/OSP axis of evil. Howie was soft and not much of a defender but still. He was electrifying and he was highly productive for 8 solid years. The Sabres have never had anyone come close to producing offense from the blueline the way Howie did (although Dahlin hopefully will get there). And as I've said before, he was the 2nd-most-exciting Sabre carrying the puck on the rush of all time, although Eichel is starting to make a run at that spot. This shouldn't be controversial.
-
My initial and immediate reaction was Ovechkin. But then I started to think about the question as who would I draft first if I were building a team. In that context, it's pretty hard not to pick a #1 center, which would be Federov or Datsyuk. I'd probably go with Federov, but certainly YMMV.
-
Why don't we just fervently hope for Sabres vs Leafs in a weird 2-out-of-3 playoff series and not worry just yet about a Cup with an asterisk.

Don't mind my tweaks!
