I also agree we have a solid hockey department but as much as I hated Regier he hasn't done bad with the last two major trades of Pom's and Vanek. We could potentially see two top ten picks this year or next depending on what the Islanders do. He fleeced Snow big time in that Vanek deal.

I wouldn't even mind signing Hiller to be starter next year until whatever goalies we have are ready for nhl duty.

It's wierd but I would like to keep Ott and Moulson and trade Miller. I just think a lot of teams don't want to give up a first and a top prospect for a guy that could be a possible rental player. This should be an interesting trade deadline to see which way Murray wants to rebuild this team. I for one at least want one more year of the tank job to at least have a shot at McDavid .

I could see if they peppered Rask and couldn't score but they didn't even show up today. Very disappointing. I'm more interested in the trade deadline. Draft lottery and the draft now. Plus now with Tavares out the Islanders will probably keep their 2014 1st rounder since they will finish in the bottom 5. Which is okay with me because who knows how long Tavares will be out for and if he misses any of next season so I think they won't be much better. It's not like free agents are lining up to go to the island.

Just an idea since alot of people want Myers gone is to move him to forward. Let's face it the guy can skate but is soft on the backend. San Jose moved Brent Burns up to forward and he looks pretty darn good. It's just an idea. Flame away!

I agree leave Miller on the bench. I'm sure he's pissed he's not playing but quick is a better goalie. He just didn't get any support. Kane created some chances as did Kessel but not much from anyone else. If I'm St. Louis I trade for Miller I think he would be a big upgrade in net.

I would laugh if teams lowball snow for Vanek. I wouldn't overpay for a rental. I'm sure he has certain teams on his mind that he wants to play for at the end of season. I also agree now with Tavares done I highly doubt we get there 2014 1st rounder. I just don't see the Islanders being any better in 2015 which gives us a great shot at McDavid with their pick. I hate to really say this but Regier looks like a genius in this trade . Snow should have never put Moulson in that package. But lucky us!

I agree I don't think many players are wanting to go to the Islanders. Now if they can keep Vanek and maybe trade for another decent player and goalie I think they would be a playoff team. Maybe not this year because they are far back but in years to come. If snow is smart if they lose Vanek and get nothing back I would almost certainly keep the 2015 1st rounder and give my team a good chance to land McDavid. I just don't see the Islanders being that much better next year losing Vanek and it's not a place where free agents want to go.

I'm thinking a lot of teams are low balling for our unrestricted free agents. Me personally unless you already have a solid shot at the cup I don't know if I mortgage too much away for a possible rental unless you feel he is the last piece of the puzzle.

Like another guy said JT Compher they liked so much that's why they moved Sekera. I'm really high on Compher if he didn't get hurt with team usa he would have been on that junior team. I think he going to be better than Grigs.

You have to have a solid veteran or two to build a young team around. I don't know if it's such a good idea to trade every unrestricted free agent without offering them a contract. It should be very interesting to see who gets moved.

Very true on scouting overseas with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Players like that just don't slip by most good scouts. U won't see the Wings sneak players like that again. The thing about Murray that I like is he is concentrating on scouting these junior players. I can see him moving a few of these second rounders in this years draft and possibly next years 2nd rounders to acquire a couple of first round targets in the next two drafts that he is eyeing.

I still want McDavid badly on this team. A player that is being compared to Sid stat wise and is a student of the game doesn't come along every year.

When you have a good team it's easier to add pieces thru free agency or a trade if the team is good. Most players want to be on solid teams. Anaheim built around Getzlaf and Perry and those two are pretty darn good to build around. We have nothing close to that in Buffalo. Detroit has Datsyuk and Zetterberg and we have nothing close to those two. Yes you can build a team without landing a top 3 pick but it's not easy.

Still a very high pick to reach on a player. His skating and work ethic are brutal. He needs to get with Girgs and work out with him and the skating coach.

I can agree with this but I think the plan was to bottom out and get a top 3 pick in the next 2-3 drafts. Plus I'm not really sold on Grigs I think there was a reason why all those teams were passing him by in the draft. I think JT Compher is going to be a better player than Grigs.

That's what happens when you decide to draft a lot of defenseman. Then throw in a lot of late runs to screw up a better pick and you have a mediocre roster. Plus you think of all the seconds he gave up for rentals how retarded. We are in year 1 of this cleanup I still think we are 3-5 years before making playoffs and that means the tank must keep rolling!

Problem not only is the defense but the lack of goal scoring! This team doesn't have many games with 3 or more goals do they. And when they do finally start scoring more the other team seems to put more in the net. I still think whoever they draft will get 10 games or less and then sent back to their respected league. This is the new management style to develop these players. I don't know about you but as bad as this season is we have to be just as bad next year to have a shot at McDavid.

Whoever they draft will still be in juniors. And most prized free agents ain't coming to a team in total rebuild mode!

You don't want to be to much better next year the key is McDavid. He has been pretty hyped for some time now. Bad thing all these late season runs hurt this squad for the future. We could have been top 3 last year in a great draft class. Now we might be picking 1-3 in a mediocre class. It figures that's Buffalo's luck. We still need to endure one more $hitty season to get this team better.

Problem is you need some key veterans around to build this young team. I don't know if it's smart to trade Ott or Moulson as much as some people want them gone!

Stafford has been playing really well since Nolan took over as coach. Still not worth what Darcy is paying him. We need him as tank commander next season. We need McDavid!
