What people don't realize is that the complete gutting of the team will buy more years of Murray running the ship to get idea of how he wants the Sabres to be built. Part of me thinks the total gutting of the team is why LaFontaine resigned. I think he still wanted some key vets around and I have a feeling Black, the scouting department and Murray wanted to rip it all down and start the total rebuild. I'm not worried about Buffalo's goaltending. When was the last time we had some serious goaltending issues. We always seem to find a quality goalie unlike teams like Philly -

I'm super excited for the draft we should have a top 3 pick. We have enough extra picks to move up and grab another player or players that Murray likes and then who knows what the Islanders do with their pick. -
What Murray is gonna do like he said at the press conference is he wants to create competition at all positions. With all these picks coming up in the next two years there is no doubt this team will be stack plus u have all the picks from the last two drafts as well. I know people don't want to hear patience but we need another full year of being at the bottom to complete the overhaul.

I'm sure Murray knew about Hudson off the Kings as well. To me people are making a big deal of McNabb. To me he had two chances to stand out for two coaches and couldn't with either one of them. I'm not sold on his skating anyhow. You look at the Hawks defenseman and those guys can skate and move the puck.

I actually like all the moves he made. With the trade to LA I think Murray had Hudson on his radar and didn't mind giving up a couple of 2nds. No big deal it's not like we don't have enough already. Moulson gone for two more 2nd rounders. Decent move. Goalie who fell out of favor with the Caps and still only 25. Let's see if he can turn it around. Buffalo always manage to find solid goaltending. We have a lot of prospects with a lot more coming and I have a lot of faith in Murray to get guys he wants. The key is the Cup plus you don't think he is gonna want to show his family that he can build a winning squad. You better believe it. I'm fine with that. Buffalo always seems to find good goaltending

I think Murray has a set of players he will want and will move picks or whatever to get those players. You build thru the draft. I have been saying that for years. Every time Buffalo had a chance for a top 5 pick they go on meaningless runs to screw their draft position. We land a top 3 pick this year and next the turn around of this franchise will be quick. Mark my words. Plus you throw in the Islanders pick which could be another pick in the top 5.

That's fine as long as he gets his offensive touch back. Like Murray said he a complimentary player. If I'm Murray I'm going one more year of the tank especially with McDavid sitting there plus who knows what the Islanders do with that 1st they traded us. We could possibly have 2 picks in the top 5. Not many teams ever get that. I think it could be a fast turn around if that happens.

I said this before and I will say this again from last year that the rebuild was going to take a few years and that it would be 3-5 years before we seen the playoffs but leaning more towards 5 years. This team wasn't going anywhere with Miller, Moulson, Ott, and whoever former sabres you want to throw in there. The big picture is the Stanley Cup and lets face it with Pom's and Vanek and the previous players I had mention they were still a long way from being a team that could contend.

McNabb, Two 2nds for Hudson Fasching & Nicolas Deslauriers

Agree, People are down the deal because of McNabb and the 2 2nd rounders. McNabb couldn't even make the worst team in the NHL twice with two different coaches. He had chances to shine under Rolston and Nolan and couldn't nail down a spot. Not worried about McNabb making much of an impact. His skating isn't the greatest anyway. -

I don't think your looking at the big picture. McNabb couldn't make this team full time with two different coaches. And it's a last place team! Yes he's a big kid but I think Murray wants guys who can move the puck and skate. And lets face it McNabb isn't one of the best skaters. Obiviously Murray and Devine seen something in Fasching that made them want to trade for the kid. Darcy would have never made a deal like this. I like it. If they like the kid they went after him. I like what Murray is doing. Neuvirth fell out of favor with Washington but Murray see's this as his chance to rebuild himself. The kid is only 25. I like the moves today. We are building this year and next thru the draft. After a couple of years people can rip Murray for what he did or didn't do.

I don't think the McNabb deal is a bad one. Murray obiviously want Fasching and was willing to give up a Defenseman that couldn't nail down a spot on the worst team in the league and the picks don't mean much when they were part of the LA's pick from last years trade. I'm guessing that Murray is going to draft a goalie of the future in the next two drafts plus we have a few that could possibly make it from the last two drafts. Don't worry most won't be here in 2 years

No doubt about it. If the Islanders give us there pick this year fine. It will be top 5 and if he defers to next year we might have a chance at another top 5 with Vanek gone. It's obivious snow has no clue to what he's doing!

I will give credit when credit is due and he did do well in the last few trades of his tenure. Problem with Darcy is he wasn't a risk-taker and was never willing to make that big move. The other thing was he really never had an idea on how to build out the team. He got very lucky after the lockout and changing of league rules which benefited the team greatly.

If he does accept he doesn't have much to work with next year. But in a couple of years he will. Yes it will be another down year next year but with all the picks and Murray picking I think the future will be bright

Klesla involved in the Washington deal for Halak. Guess that's better than a 6th rounder because most 6th rounders never make it

I would laugh if Vanek stays and then walks. Islanders in bottom 5 with Vanek should be worse without him

I have to give the guy credit it was brillant. Snow should have done everything to keep Moulson. They would have been a much better team.
