I know people probably won't like this answer but I would like him to go one more year of junior and play in the WJC and then play full time next year. If we have come this far on the tank what's one final season to have a shot at two franchise building players!

Development camp - Blue & Gold scrimmage
SabresBillsFan replied to BuffaloBorn's topic in The Aud Club
That's what I mean. He played in USHL last year and going to college this year. -
Where's Connor Hurley? Not in prospects camp It will be interesting to see since he's gained muscle mass training if he really worked on what he really needs work on and that's his quickness and skating. If he doesn't stand out at camp I could see him being moved.

Development camp - Blue & Gold scrimmage

I didn't see last years 2nd rounder on the roster Connor Hurley. Wonder why? -
What are people smoking? All that for Skinner! Wow thank god u ain't running the hockey department. Skinner is a smallish forward and yes he can score but he been banged up the last couple of seasons and I don't think your trading Myers, Hodgson , + for him. Way over payment for that player. Trading Myers now would be foolish unless your getting a top flight prospect or straight up for a player that's around his age. I think you see what Myers brings this year under a full season coaching by Nolan.

Yeah no kidding I'm thinking all these signings hurt us and I think the new front runners might be Arizona, Nashville, Carolina. It's going to be interesting. Wouldn't it be messed up that the guy that started the whole tank process ends up with McDavid!
-
To me this is year 2 of the tank but I still don't think we will be a ton better even if we land a top 2 pick next year. These players need time to develop. It's not going to happen overnight. I still think it's only 2/3 done after next year. Who knows if Reinhart makes the team and even if he can who says they don't keep him in juniors. Lots of ????? And only Murray has the answers.

I agree as I feel the Coyotes might be in the running for 1st overall and with Darcy there it might be just our luck they land him. Plus think about it u don't think the NHL wouldn't mind helping out a teams struggling fan base! Something to think about

I'm just wondering with all the free agent pickups plus the Josh Gorges trade, a healthy lineup at the start of the season plus Ted Nolan hiring his own staff if that pushes us out of the bottom 5 of the league. Because I think we will be a lot better than last year. The defense already looks a lot better than last year on paper. What are your thoughts?
-
My guess is that Arizona Coyotes might be in the running for the top pick now. They lost Vrbata and Riberio. They were already hurting on offense and then they let 2 of their better offensive players go. Plus a player like McDavid would probably ignite that fan base where they would be sold out more often. And who says the NHL can't fix the lottery system. Just something to think about. Hope it doesn't happen but I'm just wondering with all the players we picked up if we just took ourselves out of the race for 1. I know we will have lottery balls but I'm saying the best chance with the most balls like last year.

Darcy Regier Named Assistant GM of Coyotes
SabresBillsFan replied to MattPie's topic in The Aud Club
The way that the coyotes have lost offense could mean they are in the McDavid sweepstakes. Just sayin -
I'm kinda wondering if Hodgson might be getting dealt soon?
-
So how close are we to the cap floor. Most of these moves these players will be gone in a couple of years when the youngsters are ready to step in fulltime.
-
we should still be a bottom 5-10 team plus with the nhl changing the lottery who really knows where and what pick you get!
-
I agree plus the injure to Tavares plus they have young players coming.
-
Solid deal and by the time it expires the kids will be ready to replace him. Not really a fan of the player
-
I'm guessing your right.
-
We will be picking in the teens with their pick. Mark my words!
-
We can only hope but I think the NHL has different plans!

TRADE: Sabres acquire Josh Gorges from Montreal
SabresBillsFan replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Exactly what i was thinking. -
I don't have any clue to who Murray has in mind any free agent that wants to win won't be coming to Buffalo. Buffalo has to have a pretty big list but I'm guessing the players list along with their agents list probably has buffalo close to the bottom. I just don't see Buffalo as an attractive destination for free agents this year. To me this is like year 1 of the rebuild process even though it started last year. You want to develop those young guys then keep them in Rochester and keep guys in juniors. This is going to be a couple of more years of this garbage on ice. You figure we should have a top 5 pick, the islanders pick will be in the teens and St Louis in the 20's. By the time u develop some of these guys it's a couple of more years. Murray really needs to find players that are too down on a teams depth list and grab them. Who he has in mind I have no idea. But to really back into the UFA's I just don't see any of the good ones coming here. And please no Stastny. Your right they would be a solid base to start from but I just don't see any of them coming here. I'm guessing the Islanders yes the Islanders are going to land a couple of free agents of quality before we do.

Prediction Time: What kind of July 1 will it be for the Sabres?
SabresBillsFan replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
If they are motivated by money they will come here if not it's going to be a long couple of seasons and these players might feel why waste a year or two. -

SabresBillsFan replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
I thought we were going to sign Tallinder to a 1 year 10 million deal! Just kidding In all honesty I high doubt any of the big name players come here and to be honest with you I don't want any of the UFA's. Nobody really stands out to me that will make an impact. What the Coyotes traded for Gagner was nothing. The only thing they inherited his salary . We need moves like that. Take on a player who might need a change of scenery and still has room to progress. -
Christian Ehrhoff bought out; Signs with PIT, 1yr $4M
SabresBillsFan replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
I'm just shocked they couldn't trade him. Come on we couldn't get some more picks for him. I could see buying Leino out but I thought Erhoff could have been moved. -
I still think Murray unloads Stewart, Stafford, and possibly Erhoff at the deadline. Not all 3 but u never know!
