Looks like the nhl gave Buffalo the draft one year to late! Well I guess Murray is going to have to make some moves later to acquire more 2016 first round picks!

In talking about Myers and his contract.

Don't worry Arizona is gonna have their own problem called goal scoring. Plus throw in they play in the western conference and your talking lottery pick. I thought so to. I just don't know if you move a player like this so early still in his career. But Mantha is pretty darn good and this guy is a goal scorer. If he moved I would guess it has something to do with his contract.

Wow that was quick by Dreger. I don't know about Myers getting moved unless Mantha comes back the other way. As far as the other 3 I expect 2 of them to be gone by trade deadline.

I agree inkman, I will also say getting outshot by double at home is pretty darn bad. Zemgus had a great goal but the player moving at him missing the puck if he had played the body on him Zemgus would have been laid out.

I have to agree with tank. I live out in Las Vegas and have tickets to both Buffalo games in Los Angeles and Anaheim. Does it suck that they are going through this? Hell Yes it does but this was all started by Regier and Murray inherited this mess. He knew what he was getting into. It's almost like an expansion squad except they are loaded with picks and prospects. I'm really excited for the future and if we land McDavid or Eichel this group of youngsters are going to be exciting to watch. Let's face it, I have been following Sabres hockey for a long time and the year they lost to Dallas they were exciting but were outgunned by a stronger offensive team. I actually thought they had the best chance to win the cup after the lockout if it wasn't derailed by all the injuries to the defense and Tim Connolly who I thought was playing unbelievable until he got crushed. Other than that they were just an also ran for all those years. I'm all for this tank even though I have to admit its brutal to go through. I knew it was going to take sometime but once Darcy started the tear down it was going all in about the total rebuild of the new core. This draft is crucial. With 5 picks in the first two rounds should really help. I still think it's going to be one more year after this and then you will see possibly a playoff team and a squad filled with exciting players.

If we pick 1 or 2 it's still gonna probably be one more season before they could possibly be a playoff squad but in sure it would be pretty darn exciting if McDavid or Eichel are in a Buffalo uniform.

He did look like positioning was pretty strong from him but I think people will want to see him take off with the puck instead of moving it so much. It almost looks like he is too timid to hold onto the puck. He's young and most 18 year olds don't step into the nhl right away without being highly skilled. He will get there but he will be gone back to juniors at the end of 9 games.

Why do I have a feeling Vanek is going to be real good this year for the Wild. You think he's got something to prove to all the critics talking about his work ethic.

Very good assessment especially on Reinhart. I'm all about not calling up Grigs until the injuries mount. Larson, Kaleta and Flynn can fill the void until the tank is complete. I have to admit it sucks routing against this team but the offense if it looks like it did tonight this season will be bad. They looked like a pickup game with as many 2 on 1 Columbus had in those few minutes in the second.

Looks like they are going to struggle again offensively. I'm thinking when Reinhart gets sent back to junior don't even call up Grigs and let him continue to develop in Rochester. You still have Kaleta, Flynn and Larson to put back in the lineup. Complete the tank. I highly doubt it! I'm sure both won't be here in the next few years.

Enroth can play great but u give any team that many 2 on 1 u will probably lose almost every night.

Wow how many 2-1 are they going to give up. That keeps up all year they will almost guarantee themselves at least Eichel.

That would be a disaster if that happened. It would be another pick in the teens and a first round exit.

I'm not concerned about them I would be more concerned about Weber and Risto. As most know I'm not really a fan of Weber. Seems like he always on for more goals against than anyone else on the team. I absolutely love the Sabres and it's hard and I mean hard to go through this rebuild. Like others said the rebuild should have taken place the year McKinnon came out. Last year was a weak draft class and even though I wanted Reinhart I still believe he isn't ready. I think the additions of Gorges, Gionta and getting Moulson back, plus Stewart and Stafford in contract years puts us out of the top 2 picks which would really suck. Islanders I believe will be a playoff team or damn close to it. I still think Buffalo, Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Calgary, and Winnipeg if they move Kane or Buff will all have lottery balls. My favorites are Arizona and Carolina right now.

I can endure 1 final year of the tank but I don't think we end up with either two of the big prizes in the 2015 draft. I think they are gonna be better than people think. I'm looking forward to watching this team and what Murray has planned.

I will throw Arizona in the mix as well I don't know where they are gonna get goal scoring from. I have to give the Edge in coaching to Arizona but better goal scorers to Carolina even though they have 2 solid players out for alittle while. I would hate to see McDavid in either one of those uniforms. I don't mind Arizona but not with Darcy there. I just think their is no way we finish last unless we start Nieuvirth every game.

To me it's not about Samson's effort or dedication but all about not standing out to earn an extended stay. I like the kid and he was the player I wanted in the 2014 draft but I thought Grigs played pretty well in the preseason and stood out more than Sam did. If you want to reward hard work than I think Grigs deserved it. I like what Grigs has done and have no problem him getting sent down. Play a ton and put him in a lot of situations. I get what Nolan and the Sabres are doing with Reinhart but I could see how a player could be upset not making the team when I thought he had played himself into a spot. Problem with Grigs thinking is that he feels he can make this squad but I'm sure their thinking is yeah you can make it but we want u as a 1-2 center not a 3-4 one. That's just my guess.

The interesting this is Grigs is a RFA at the end of the season. I feel bad for the guy but it's best for the organization long term and good for him if he continues to put in the work and doesn't dwell on it. The contract between the CHL and the NHL sucks because Reinhart to me doesn't deserve to get 9 games when I thought Grigs was better than him in the games I watched. I know the reason why but if your preaching earn your spot and work hard then he shouldn't get games but I get it. Both should be in the AHL playing against better competition and developing.
