I agree but Florida should be a better rested team since they were of for alittle while while Buffalo still had to play Carolina.

I don't think moving Myers is a smart move unless someone grossly overpays. Myers seems like he is finding his game again and this guy can skate. To me why move him for more picks and prospects because even though you move him and have guys like McCabe, Pysyk, and Zadorov coming I also think u have Benoit and Mezs heading out at the deadline or at the end of the year which means u need to pick another defenseman. And a #1 or 2 defenseman aren't that easy to acquire unless u draft them. I can see this team if they can land McDavid or Eichel in 2015 still finish in the bottom 10 of the 2016 draft. I say this because all these young players still have to develop. I like Mantha but I don't see Detroit moving him for Myers. And if I'm Ken Holland Mantha and Nyquist aren't even in any trade discussions.

I don't think he was that bad a defenseman. The contract given to him by Regier was too long but not bad money wise. I still feel the reason Patty left is I can bet you he wanted to add pieces to this team instead of going through a total rebuild. I think he wanted to keep Miller, Ott and add more. And I think when the rest of the organization including Murray wanted to tear it down and start fresh that was not what he believed in and quit. We will probably never know but that's what I think that happened.

I would take anything they get for him. Not like Erhoff and cutting ties with him and getting nothing in return. I'm not a fan of letting players go and getting nothing. I'm sure he could have gotten a pick or a player.

Yeah but they still won. Islanders with the moves they made are a playoff team and if u don't think so then your gonna be disappointed. I know it's early but the additions of Leddy and Boychuck are huge. Throw in Strome and Reinhart and they have a solid squad. We are not going to get a lottery ball from the Islanders it's all up to Buffalo to do that.

Islanders with a win over San Jose and outshot them by a lot. If you don't think they aren't a playoff team u will be sadly mistaken!

By the time the 2016 draft rolls around even if we land McDavid or Eichel yes we will be improved but still a lot of players in development. I could see that 2016 draft with us picking top 10.

Mantha is going to be good real good. Their is no way Holland trades Mantha for Myers.

Carolina might be bad right now but when both Staal's, Skinner, Sekera come back they are much better than Buffalo. It's early and they expect Skinner back soon but he better be careful because he had a lot of concussions the last few years.

Believe it or not Stachan actually played in the ECHL here in Las Vegas as well as Engelland and both made it to the nhl. Both are mediocre defense but I have to give both of them credit it ain't easy going from ECHL to the NHL.

In all honesty if I'm Holland and can get Myers without giving up Mantha and Nyquist to me they become a very good team. I could see Holland offering Larkin, 1st round pick in 2015 or 2016 or both. Someone else said it they would trade Myers for Mantha straight up and I kinda agree. Problem is you trade Myers means your drafting and developing more defense. I think if Myers is in play I'm guessing Murray wants his players on this team and he doesn't like the contract he received from the previous regime. I thought getting rid of Ehrhoff was alittle early and I thought he could have been moved rather then cutting ties and getting nothing for him. His contract hit wasn't that bad. I know why they did it but I don't like getting nothing for a player when I believe he was still worth a player or picks.

The Islanders are a playoff team or pretty darn close to it barring injuries to key players. Say what you want they needed defense and acquire two pretty good ones in Boychuck and Leddy. As much as we all want to finish bad when they had the fifth pick last year I was hoping they would give us that pick but I knew Garth would make some moves to get Buffalo out of the McDavid sweepstakes this year. I will say we won't be getting a lottery ball from the Islanders.

Part of the problem is even though they picked high in certain drafts not all these drafts have great players at the top. Nail Yak is a perfect example. Hes a young player but to this point he's nothing special. Then all those years of not picking defense , plus the revolving door of decent players out of Edmonton. Even though Edmonton has a lot of young players they neglected defense, goaltending and having some solid vets to help the kids.

I don't see Detroit putting Nyquist or Mantha on the table for Myers. Those are two players you keep and build around if your Detroit. I see Holland offering other players, picks or prospects.

Islanders and Devils looking like playoff teams!

Well they should look good tonight because Carolina is missing both Staal's, Skinner and Dwyer. If they don't then theirs something drastically wrong!

I will say this yes almost all of us knew they were gonna be bad but I figured they would be pretty darn competitive. Last year when LaFontaine and Nolan came in they became watchable and at least in most games and they weren't getting outshot by 2-1 margains. The first 3 games they look brutal and getting badly outshot. I figured and I know it's still a long way before the end of season that they would finish bottom 5-8. Right now if they keep this up it's gonna be a long unwatchable season.

I agree as I think Grigs will be ready if not pissed off that he was sent down. Plus u think Reinhart will know what he needs to improve his game by getting a taste of the NHL this year.

Not if they are still getting outshot by 2-1 margains. To me the first 3 games were almost unwatchable. When and if they send Reinhart down please don't call up Grigs for this $hit. Call up Larsson and keep Grigs developing in Rochester.

If Buffalo loses to Carolina and Florida it could possibly be alittle while before we see a win with Anaheim and Los Angeles next week.

I can agree with that but Reinhart still needs more junior time. He needs to get bigger and stronger. I been saying this for awhile now if Tampa can send down Droiun then Buffalo can Reinhart down. No need to rush him. Something is not right with this squad. I thought they would be improved. Not saying they should beat any of teams in the first three games but the shoot difference in all three games is a bad sign. To me your getting outshot big time and not getting enough pucks in their direction. I figured the defense would be better and that they would really improve Bufalo's breakout. And up to this point they have done neither. I have tickets in Anaheim and Los Angeles thinking they would be somewhat better than last year and make it an entertaining game which they haven't done yet to this point. If I knew they were worse than last year I would have just saved my money and watched them on television.

You can lose fine. But getting outshot this badly is unexceptable. They were outshot 44-12. Last year them being really bad weren't that badly outshot. Yes the Hawks and Ducks are good but are they that dominant where we can't get any shots. This team looks like it took a step back. I actually thought with the players they brought here especially on defense would help keeping the goals average down and help the breakout increasing our scoring chances. Instead the opposite is occuring right now. Don't get me wrong I don't want them to be that much better this year and I thought that with the additions of some players this offseason that they would be a more improved squad. At one point last year I thought they were unwatchable because of how bad they were and this year after just 3 games they look worse. It's not even entertaining. Now you throw in some Myers trade talk. Does Murray want to get rid of all the players he wasn't involved with contract wise or what?

When Reinhart gets sent back the first player up should be Larson or Adam. We need to keep the tank alive don't we? Or should I say unwatchable hockey because that's how bad this team is so far!

We know they weren't gonna be good but not this bad. We wanted to see improvement but still lose close games. But how can you say they are better when they are getting badly outshot every game. It's okay to lose as long as you play hard and your competitive but not okay when you are not working and getting outshot big time. This team right now looks worse than last year and I thought they would be somewhat better. Your probably right but if they lose both then we are in for a very unwatchable season. Last year I thought they were unwatchable for alittle bit and then came Lafontaine and Nolan and they became competitive and watchable at least somewhat entertaining. This year they are unwatchable right now. I mean I can't even remember them getting outshot this bad last year.
