  1. I agree about observing what he does versus listening to what he says. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be a great closer. But that is also an organizational effort and not just the GM. No one in the organization seems to know what levers to pull and when. It's concerning.
  2. All I'm saying is, if the rules allowed, the ahl would have been better for him last year. On a playoff caliber team, he would not have been playing in the NHL last year. I like him...just staying the obvious...the sabres lack quality depth. That's the only reason he played.
  3. Am I one of the few who likes Benson but just isn't ready to label him top 6? Bright future...but in reality, shouldn't he be in the ahl next year? Thinking long term of course..
  4. I like him too. As my 13th forward.
  5. I want you to be right. I just don't think you are. I hope you get to tell me " I told you so ". I miss playoff hockey. I grew up on it.
  6. I would've been good w the sabres paying that.
  7. Wouldn't mind either. Boone Jenner would probably be our second best center if acquired. Would allow Cozens to season a bit more. Always been a fan of his game. But if I'm Columbus, not moving him until trade deadline...and he will cost a pretty penny to get at that time. That's my hunch anyway.
  8. Correct. The organization needs to be better at selling and closing. I'm certain we went after a few big fish - guessing we didn't come close.
  9. I am fairly certain you are KA's mother
  10. It is clear they bought Skinner out to make a move this off-season. Every move they made could've been made without waiving him. And they would have been financially better off, long term, having bought him out next year. Trust me, KA and the team went hunting today - and failed. Their NHL scouting and in house promotion team is probably extremely poor and unorganized. Piss poor showmanship is my guess. Gotta know how to sell.... There is far too little NHL experience up top with a far range enough of experiences. My faith is zero. Unless Quinn and JJ step up and Bryam and Power grow up 2-3 years quicker than they should have to, we are floating between 9th and 11th next season.
  11. We will not enjoy playing Boston, again, for the next few years. I trust their ability to bring in appropriate talent far more than Buffalo.
  12. I am open to arguments that this is not an underwhelming start to the off-season for the sabres.
  13. She is an Internet gift. Hawk Tua my friend. Google it. It's gold
  14. You've been dying for 10 years now. I'm rooting for you still
  15. Feel, meh. We were all hoping for a trade...but it's a low probability is all. Meh
  16. That is tricky part. You need a partner that is rebuilding and/or cap crunched really bad. Rebuilding teams make the most sense as partners - as I believe the cap crunch thing is overrated. Teams always seem to 'figure it out'. So unless we really know who is rebuilding...and does that team have an asset they want to move...I am going to go out on a limb guess the Sabres use their 11th pick to select a player in the draft.
  17. i never said bury him on a 4th line. but on he should not be getting more than 13-14 minutes a night on a good team. He is player that should be leveraged solely based on matchups and game situations (imo). If you are playing a piss poor defensive team, sick him on em. If you are playing a team with a insanely good first line that requires you to matchup your line that best blend shutdown and scoring touch...his minutes should be low in a game like that. for 9 million, i want a guy who can play reliably 17-19 minutes a night - or more if the situation warrants it. i just dont believe he is that guy.
  18. I suspect they are doing this because they plan to (attempt to) spend cash in FA this year to overhaul the bottom 6 of this unit. Economically, it makes sense to hold him a year and bury him in lesser minutes and utilize as needed when your team is down late in the game....unless of course you plan to use that money immediately in the 2024-25 season.
  19. he probably fits in decently well with that team's style. it would not be a bad move for them.................wicked cackling laugh ensues.....
  20. this seems right. korpi coming in at 3 mill for a backup is not bad - bussi is no guarantee to be nhl ready. the more i look at this trade, this less i dislike it for boston.
  21. Kyle seems like a good dude - and I cannot help but be happy for him. But if any fans here are harboring ill will because they suspect he was behind or supportive of the team's boycott of the fan salute and otherwise anti fan chirping in the lockerroom - I understand that completely.
  22. I'd like that fella who is # 2 on that list...that's a player you justify waiving skinner for
  23. He seems well liked in the locker room - and is very likeable with the fans as well. Some people (myself included) think he may be a bad influence on the ice with a young team. He often gets caught out of his zone defensively...drifting a bit to get a jumpstart on offense. The thought is he may influence the young lot into thinking they can do the same, even though they do not have his same skills offensively. And...he is pretty poor on defense. This will not be a simple addition by subtraction move if they do buy him out... they do have to replace 'some' of his offense - and not just replace him with a JAG. It is not an easy move to make.
  24. They may have some big FA targets they really really like. If so - you take the pain now to get the guys you feel like can change your organization. While I am not saying they should do it - that could very well be a reason - and a reason I would explore if I were them.
