Oh boy, here come the "Luke Adam is slow" posts. Don't watch his his feet, watch him move up the ice in comparison to other players. Sabres fans are so used to watching smurfs skate that we think even 6'3" players should skate like the tasmanian devil. Tall players have longer legs, and longer strides, so their strides take longer to complete so they take less strides per second/seconds per stride. IT DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE SLOW! We had this same discussion about Vanek last year, and immediately after it he blew through two defensemen grabbed a free puck and buried it. That was the end of the Vanek is slow discussion. Hopefully Adam does the same thing tonight. Good to see Adam getting rewarded for a hot start! Sabres prosects 3-peat on the AHL Rookie of the year award?

I think Mason was wearing his rubber pads. As someone else said, it easily could have been a 7 or 8-1 game, primarily due to the big fat juicy rebounds Mason was leaving everywhere. I will give the sabres their due, they were in position to make plays against Atlanta, but they haven't earned the benefit of the doubt yet. For now it was just a good win over a team that played like absolute crap. They can start to regain my confidence by pounding Ottawa into the ice tonight. I would love to see McCormick and Neil go at it, but Neil has had his chance against Kassian in the preseason and McCormick in the opener and didn't seem to want anything to do with them. He's pretty tough when he gets to take a run against Ennis, though. That's why having one tough guy does not make up for a team full of pansies. Lets see some team toughness tonight. They need to, dare I say, play out of character.

No, if Ottawa plays the way Atlanta did, the sabres should win. Don't forget what an awful effort that was by Atlanta, especially by their goaltender.

Don't assume you are reffing 6 year olds. Mites are 8 and under, and if you have a high level mite game the kids can fly. My 8 year old is playing Mite AAA this year, and he is a far better skater than I am. He's not as fast yet, but it won't be long. My 11 year old is now officially faster than I am.
