Varlamov went for a 1st and 2nd, Schneider a high 1st, Bernier for a 2nd/Frattin/Scrivens. Maybe they can use the other late 1st to find an up and coming guy.

I wouldn't exclude the lockout season as a good season for Kane. 17 goals, 33 points in 48 games are good totals.

He's .89 PPG in the AHL, better than Armia, Grigorenko or Larsson at that specific stat.

Perhaps from a height/weight standpoint, but he's a former 2nd round pick, two years younger than Varone and appears to be a legitimate prospect.
