Kane was recovering and out for the season when he was acquired. That was part of the intentional tank. It worked like a charm. I wasn’t happy that TM gave up a first for a goalie but Lehner has proven to be quite talented. Botteril has done a terrible job with both the goaltending and Center positions, the two most important positions.

I disagree. Botteril has made 1 good move that being acquiring Joker. The Skinner move has proven to be a disaster and his contract will soon be among the worst albatrosses in the league. Wasting first round pick on Montour was idiotic as well as giving up picks for Miller for him to sit in press box. Hiring Housley was a terrible move for a first time GM to hire a first time coach. Botteril has mismanaged the cap in virtually every move he’s made. And let us not forget Botteril made one of the worst trades in NHL history and has still not replaced ROR. TM acquired 2 top 6 forwards Including a Center and a physical power forward and a very good goalie ( who had mental health issues)

Not to nitpick but Guhle played almost 16 minutes according to stats and didn’t make any glaring errors that I saw. Guhle is also younger and less developed than Montour.

I’m becoming a bit concerned about the Skinner situation. The contract was always terrible from the get go but Skinner is not producing at all. I want to believe he just needs a decent Center and isn’t mailing it in. Hopefully we can get him some better line mates and he can start producing.

Did anyone think Montour looked significantly better than Guhle on defense? I would say they were comparable. Another terrible Botteril trade.

I would definitely resign Girgs for cheap deal. Get rid of Vesey, Bogo, Frolik, Sheary, Erod. I don’t think Tage will be ready to contribute next year.

Your analogies are out of whack. 1. we have a good backup goalie in Ullmark we need a starter number 1 goalie like Ryan Miller 2. We have Mair and Gaustad already in Larson and Girgensons. That is not what we need. We need a true #2 Center like Cirelli, RNH etc. We also need a #3 Center 3. The log line is a 4th line not a 3rd line. Mojo belongs as a winger on 3rd line. 4. We need some physicality on defense besides Risto. 5.Tim Connolly 2006 playoffs was amazing

Montour trade was not good at all. He is mediocre and no better than Colin Miller or Guhle. Boteril will also overpay Montour this offseason.

Botteril could get a contract extension.
