  1. And he shouldn't, which is why this is a great trade as others have already mentioned. Huge potential upside if Nolan can do his thing with him, and absolutely no downside if he thinks he can float here. Nope, is pronouced more like "Leenoos", only you shorten the vocals a bit. So it actually rhymes with "penoos". Potato, potato :-)
  2. Exactly. Both the Oilers and Sabres suck, but for very different reasons. Omark brings something we sorely lack - Scoring touch and raw skill. Now, if he doesn't mind some hard work either, I see no reason he wouldn't fit in with the current Sabres.
  3. Good point, but at least we got rid of the guy who put together this mess. And I get the feeling we won't be standing pat in the off-season either, and with Regier gone and a the old "meh" mentality gone, I don't think players will be as reluctant to come here any more. Sure, we may not attract top shelf FA's, but less can do the trick.
  4. Yup, he has puck skills, no doubt. I'm hoping he suffered from Edmonton just being too young and build poorly, and can turn it around in Buffalo, cause he certainly has 1st line potential.
  5. Yeah, it got out of hand fast, which is ultimately what lead to Regier getting the can, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if a new GM try to turn some of all those 1st and 2nd rounders into actual players.
  6. Will be interesting what he'll fetch though, should they try and deal him. Wouldn't mind keeping him around, but he's probably not too thrilled to be part of a rebuild.
  7. With Regier gone, that actually makes sense.
  8. You forgot to include Mr. Psycho himself, Zdeno Chara, but other than that, I agree completely. Chara halfway took Pacioretty's head off, John Scott decked Loui Eriksson, but got suspended "cause he was too big". I'm not even going to comment on how ridiculous this is, and I don't give a flying ###### if Zdeno Chara were the second coming of Gretzky - He's still a pyscho cheapshot artist, who'll wind up killing somebody one day, unless the league finally hands him a huge suspension for one of said cheapshots. We can think what we want about caharcters like John Scott, but that's pretty much what they're around for. As a deterrent. And it works. Ask the Bruins. Other teams are starting to take liberties with them now, and I'm loving every second of it - They've been a bunch of cheapshot artists for years, and they're finally getting a taste of their own style of play. Karma's a bitch, Boston.
  9. If there's anything wrong with it, it's that Eriksson doesn't touch the puck at any point, making it interference. But I can't actually judge whether he touches it or not, so I don't know. One thing's for sure, the guy making the pass should feel like crap right now, cause his bad pass is the reason Eriksson gets hit.
  10.
  11. That Orpik hit on Eriksson last night, I'm not sure, it looked like interference to me, but again - The Bruins have been dishing out borderline and outright dirty hits like this on a consistent basis for years, it can't be a suprise to them that at some point other teams started taking liberties with them as well. Teams are starting to play Boston hard and dirty. Seeing as the league hasn't taken action against them for all the crap the Bruins have gotten away with over the years, teams are now taking action themselves. Good for them, I say, and that includes Scott running over Eriksson. You're playing for a dirty cheapshotting team, better keep your head up Loui, and get used to it cause this is how things have become. As long as the league continues to be a joke when it comes to discipline, this what we're going to see. Also, Chara should get at least 5 games for his blatant headhunting attempt 10 seconds later, but it's Chara so they won't even review it. Flying elbow, 2 seconds after a pass. ###### cheapshotting douchebag.
  12. Marchand is gutless little ######, and any cheapshot that comes his way is well earned, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sorry, but that's just the way I feel - About time some bad karma came right back in the faces of the Bruins, and I couldn't think of better recepient than Brad Marchand. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Of course, all of this wouldn't be a problem if the NHL actually enforced their own rules properly, but when certain teams get away with murder night and night out, it can hardly come as a surprise to anyone that the players decide to take matters into their own hands, eventually.
  13. Canada Sweden USA (If they make it past the quarters, that team is always a complete unknown) I'm looking for Russia to underachive, they don't usually do well when they're expected to win. Sweden are as close to money as they come, always perform well at tournaments, and have the ability to take it all on a good day.
  14. Personally, I'll be happy with General Zemgus falling down a lot the next three seasons, as long as his keeps up his work ethic, and can continue developing. Hey may never be a 40 goal guy, but there's more to the game than just sniping water bottles.
  15. Can't wait to see where he is two weeks from now. My guess is the pressbox, or the fourth line, getting 3 minutes.
  16. I don't know enough about Ted Nolan to have an opinion on whether he's a good coach or not. I do know he's well though of as a motivator, and less as an x's and o's coach, that's about it. What I do know, however, is that Patty played under him for a full season, and apparently thinks enough of him to bring him back as an interim. That's good enough for me.
  17. Somebody needs to go to an open practice and shoot a video of Drew Stafford curled up on the ice, puking his guts out. I would pay serious money to see that :w00t:
  18. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! Regier gone...!!! FINALLY!!!! Opening a special bottle tonight in celebration. Will LaFontaine be able to do a better job? Who knows, but if ever there was a time when change for the sake of change was good, this is it! Thank you!!!!
  19. I'd love to see LaFontaine back with the Sabres, but not as long as DR is here to mess things up either way.
  20. Same here. You don't draft a bunch of kids, and just magically turn into a good team three years later. First, you need to draft the right players, not just the *best* ones. Secondly, you need to develop those players, perhaps barring one very high pick. Who's going to help these kids develop? Drew Freakin' Stafford, and Ville Lamo? For a succesful rebuild, you need a plan. So far, that plan appears to be unload-everyone-for-picks-except-the-really-expensive-and-really-bad-veterans-and-hope-to-god-you-strike-gold-in-the-draft-repeatedly. That isn't a rebuild, it's a game of complete chance.
  21. If Regier thinks Stafford is ever going to be tradeable, then he should not only be fired, he should be admitted to a mental facility.
  22. Same here, with one slight change. Tanking? I'm in, was for the past 3-4 seasons. Tanking with Regier in charge of turning those high picks into hockey players, and a team? Now, who can I put this.....? How about : NO!!! ######!! WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wallbash:
