  1. That could very well be. I would have to imagine that he at the very least has a "game face" he puts on, when it comes to dealing with important matters. Like it nor not, not many people are able to get things done being all nice and honest all the time. Sad but true.
  2. Doesn't add up to leaving right before the deadline, without at the very least putting any speculation as to why, at rest. Unless of course PLF is a whackjob behind closed doors, which I doubt.
  3. Lafontaine, Peca, Barnes, Drury, Briere, Rivet (waived), Pominville, Vanek, Ott - The list is long and distinguished.
  4. Read all of this in the voice of Mordin Solus, and it's absolutely hilarious (yeah, if you haven't played the Mass Effect series, this makes absolutely no sense at all) :flirt: And my apologies to you, X, my post has no relevance whatsoever and is not meant as bashing yours, just looking for a little humor in all of this.
  5. Whole heartedly agree with this. I may be wrong down the stretch, but at this point I don't think there's any reason to feel partcularly great about LaFontaine leaving.
  6. Forgot to mention that Tyler Myers is definitely a changed player since Rolston was canned. Who knows, he may be that franchise d-man after all?
  7. I think Drew should probably accept, that if he's going to remain in the NHL once his contract is up, it's going to be as a 3rd liner/2nd liner-bubble guy, whose main asset needs to be to work in the corners, backchecking, and in front of the net - AND at a greatly reduced pricetag. At this point, the only thing making Drew unmoveable is his contract. Leino on the other hand. Leino is the key - To Reinhart, that is :w00t:
  8. There ought to be a universal law of sorts, prohibiting an idiot like Kerry Fraser to answer questions. Ever.
  9. "You want foot in face....??" :w00t: If the ref saw an attempt to injure, shouldn't he file for disciplinary action on said player?
  10. Ville Leino IS The Tank Commander IN The Road to Reinhart! Featuring - Mike Weber - Drew Stafford - John Scott
  11. I'm thinking Teddy would get fined for just putting that line up on the blackboard.
  12. This should be a sig somewhere.
  13. My guess is Nolan saw what a crap Latvian team could do when got their collective minds set on something, and realised the Sabres weren't giving their all Throwing John Scott off the ice though, seems like benching Dan Paille or whoever, to wake up Derek Roy.
  14. I'm pretty sure the NHL in general does not adhere to the IOC list of banned substances, but I could be wrong? I dsitincly remember several NHL'ers missing time up to the Salt Lake City games in 2002 (Max included), due to stuff like cold's, ordinary flu etc. As far as I recall, the IOC list of banned substances included several cold and flu meds allowed by the NHL, and players were afraid they might test positive unless they steered clear of them, well in advance. This sounds rather similar, although foolish by Backstrom. Reminds me when Ulf Samuelsson was disqualified in Nagano for entering the country on an American passport, rather than his Swedish passport - Stupid move, but hardly any ill-will behind it.
  15. There's always the chance that it swings the other way, and the on-ice officials get so worried about not being biased towards Canada, that they'll end being biased against them instead. Fobba's remarks in the press tells me he's lobbying for exactly that. That said, the stripes usually don't need an excuse to ruin a good game, so why would they need one now? :wallbash:
  16. Seeing as the draft experts all say the 2015 draft is deeper, then I'm quite fine with that. They'll suck next year as well, they're the Oilers of the east.
  17. But on the Sabres, Myers would be the 1st line playmaking center :P
  18. I would agree, to a certain extent - The problem with the old format, was that there was always a certain team that weren't amateurs. And if you have pros in every other competition, then why should the hockey tournament be different?
  19. Enroth should've played instead,,,,
  20. That's what they say after every olympics. You think the SHL, SM-Liiga and KHL are gonna follow suit? Nope, me neither. Let's face it, the NHL is not as significant a league as it was 20 years ago.
  21. LET ME SEE YOUR WARFACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. You know, that's the first time I ever noticed Miller wore #39 for that tournament.
  23. At least Malkin tried, the biggest two no-shows was Ovie and Kovy (see what I did there :P ), and they had 11 KHL players on the roster this year. It doesn't matter what league they're from, if they're the wrong players. Brooks had it right.
