Honestly, if this team can't do without Eichel sooner rather than later? They're not going anywhere. It sucks, but a sophomore player shouldn't be the deciding factor, if his team wins or not. Or at least not, the sole deciding factor.

Call me old-fashioned, but I really miss the days where arenas would have actual names, like the Aud, the Joe Louis Arena, Maple Leaf Gardens, etc.

I hated the goathead when it was first introduced, but I have to say it really grew on me. The Hasek-era had a lot to do with that, I suspect.

I've played the NHL 17 beta, and although Hockey Ultimate Team isn't all that great (mostly due to the opposition), I have high hopes for the Be a Pro game mode. There's a ton of loose pucks, knocking other guys off the puck by just nudging them, instead of destroying them with a big hit, and the puck physics got a nice overhaul too. Granted, it's NHL 16 v.2, but that game wasn't all that bad either, IMHO.

The real question is : If any Sabres fans *are* around to hear it, do *they* give a ?

I'd raise a 1999 banner to the rafters, saying "No Goal".

I don't know enough about Okposo to say whether I like the deal or not, but if they're actively trying to move Kane, it definitely makes a lot of sense.

No. I get your point, but I will say this - Only an idiot comes out to say that he wants to turn your only 40-goal scorer in 8 years, into the "best 2-way forward in the game". Yeah, those 40-goal guys are a dime a dozen, let's turn this guy into Curtis Brown v 2.0.

The fact that the concussion that utimately *did* end his career was an accidental collision with Mike Keane, that would certainly make it appear so. Only problem was, the Sabres doctors wouldn't clear Patty, because Larry Quinn wanted an injury prone star player off the books, not because they feared for his health so it's tough to blame the Rangers in this case. They had no reason to believe Buffalo was playing fair with Lafontaine.

Haseks numbers were inflated, he played behind the best defense in the league for years. Look what happened when he left for Detroit.

I'd say at this point, the sky's the limit for these guys. Goaltending may prove to be an achilles heel next season, and the defense might night an additional top 4 guy added.

That blocker save was something, but in general he had another strong game. He's not flashy, he's just.... There, for lack of a better word. The 4-2 goal last night was a bounce off the end boards, and Girgs should've had an assist on the 4-3 goal, for coughing up the puck that easily.
