You’re right, nobody ever sets those guys up. You’re listing players that are not pure finishers, but great players without a doubt. This from last March, 2019 : McDavid has been on the ice for 33 of Draisaitl's 41 goals and has assisted on 23 of them. Draisaitl has assisted on 17 of McDavid's 33 goals this season. My point still stands - Finishers need setup guys, even McDavid and Crosby can’t go coast to coast at will.

I simply don’t buy this approach. Show me a great goalscorer in this league, and I’ll show you one or more great passers. True then, true now. The great scorers finish. That’s what they do. Others miss open nets, or hit the bar, or just put it right in the goalies chest. But very very few goalscorers can shine playing, with third liners or worse. I’m as annoyed by Skinner as the next guy, but to think pure goalscorers should create their own offense, is foolish IMO. Ovies are few and far between, and even they need someone to set them up half the time. You find a guy who can consistently finish, you make sure he gets set up as often as humanly possible. 40-goal scorers don’t grow on trees, but guys who miss open nets, hits posts or chestplates, do. Sabres fans, of all people, should know this.

The franchise has stability if ever saw it - We’ve been crap for 10+ years. That’s as stable as it gets.

I was just pointing out that he’s played a minute long shift before, and shouldn’t be out there. The Jackets scored, but let’s instead assume they don’t, and a 40 second flurry ensues, and we run around in our own zone. That’s when it becomes poor coaching to have people out there, who weren’t fresh to begin with. We’ve seen RK do it before, and it’s poor decision-making on his part, plain and simple.

Well, he shouldn’t have been out there on the last goal, so that’s on RK.
