  1. How long has it been since we had a guy who could win faceoffs, and actually play some hockey too? Chris Drury?
  2. For a shot at the no. 1 pick? Nope, sorry - I want the kids to learn how to win, a heckuva lot more than another high pick. I want them to learn how to win, and I want them to learn to LIKE it.
  3. Feel bad for Tokarski on that goal though, solid performance afain tonight. He can let in all the goals he wants, when the game is over though. Don’t care 😂
  4. Sabres outworking the Pens tonight. Never thought I’d see a Buffalo team put forth this kind of effort night after night. Thought it died in May, 1999. I’m sold.
  5. I don’t think either option is right. I don’t think they’re a bad team, but they’re not a good team either. They are however a very young team, and right now it appears Granato is teaching them some basic, good hockey habits. I like that.
  6. And to keep him long enough to lose 18 straight. The guy should, at the very least, had been canned after 10 losses in a row. It’s not like he’d taken them anywhere to deserve any benefit of the doubt.
  7. I don’t give a crap if they lose, I’m entertained. Thought that was gone forever!
  8. Love that save. Giving the glove side away.... Nope, nothing.
  9. Wow, they must’ve gotten that one wrong. Meant to call Cozens for holding the stick, I’m sure 😂
  10. God, you’d think I was listening to the Penguins announcers. Constant Pens ballwashing 🤮
  11. Sam and Mitts taking forever to shoot at open nets in this period. At least one of those should’ve been a goal.
  12. Oh great, now look for the weak hooking call on us in the next two minutes.....
  13. That trade WAS terrible..... 🤣
  14. Head Con-artist Ralph Krueger was a bad coach.
  15. They still would’ve beaten RK’s Sabres 😆😂
  16. He was used in that role yes, played on a shutdown line most of the time. That doesn’t mean that was the only facet of his game though, he was a solid all-rounder all the way. He had four consecutive 40+ point seasons in Buffalo, three of them 20+ goal seasons. Anyway, my point is moot - He got is knee blown out, Connolly had too many head injuries, and neither had the careers they should’ve had. It was Stu Barnes for Barnaby, but that doesn’t make it any less a great deal.
  17. That one was inexcusable.
  18. I don't know, who doesn't? I'm merely pointing out that pretty much all of us spent years complaining about Regier, and now that our uber-clueless owners have us in way deeper misery than anyone ever thought possible, we suddenly miss the guy? The guy had his moments, but there's a reason he was fired. That's all I'm saying. Just cause you miss your ex-wife from time to time, it doesn't mean you shouldn't have been divorced, to use your analogy. I don't think we disagree, was trying to refresh some memories is all.
  19. That doesn't it mean it was a good trade. Connolly was known as a one-dimensional player, with huge potential upside on the offensive side of things, but nobody had any illusions as to his defensive game. Peca was a great no. 2 centerman who could play in every situation. Yes he was a fan favorite, but don't let that take away from the fact that he had few, if any, weak spots in his game. It wasn't his fault that the Sabres didn't have a no. 1 center. Fast forward 18 months, it's a different story completely, I agree. But nobody knew that, at the time.
