  1. They still would’ve beaten RK’s Sabres 😆😂
  2. He was used in that role yes, played on a shutdown line most of the time. That doesn’t mean that was the only facet of his game though, he was a solid all-rounder all the way. He had four consecutive 40+ point seasons in Buffalo, three of them 20+ goal seasons. Anyway, my point is moot - He got is knee blown out, Connolly had too many head injuries, and neither had the careers they should’ve had. It was Stu Barnes for Barnaby, but that doesn’t make it any less a great deal.
  3. That one was inexcusable.
  4. I don't know, who doesn't? I'm merely pointing out that pretty much all of us spent years complaining about Regier, and now that our uber-clueless owners have us in way deeper misery than anyone ever thought possible, we suddenly miss the guy? The guy had his moments, but there's a reason he was fired. That's all I'm saying. Just cause you miss your ex-wife from time to time, it doesn't mean you shouldn't have been divorced, to use your analogy. I don't think we disagree, was trying to refresh some memories is all.
  5. That doesn't it mean it was a good trade. Connolly was known as a one-dimensional player, with huge potential upside on the offensive side of things, but nobody had any illusions as to his defensive game. Peca was a great no. 2 centerman who could play in every situation. Yes he was a fan favorite, but don't let that take away from the fact that he had few, if any, weak spots in his game. It wasn't his fault that the Sabres didn't have a no. 1 center. Fast forward 18 months, it's a different story completely, I agree. But nobody knew that, at the time.
  6. To be perfectly honest, Peca had his knee blown out by Tucker the next year so one could argue it was an evenly bad deal for everyone involved, but my point was that at the time - That trade was horrible. Two unproven prospect for your Selke winning captain - People would run Kevyn Adams out of town for that, and rightfully so. We're talking a deal similar to trading Eichel for Jack Hughes and some prospect. Losing the D was the same year.
  7. And he was also the architect behind the tank “There will be some suffering”. And he brought us Tim Connolly and Taylor freakin’ Pyatt for Mike Peca, in his absolute prime. We also had a 14-game losing streak under him at some point. I believe it was 2008. My point? Darcy had his moments, but he damn sure had his gaffs too 😆
  8. I'm really not liking Ullmarks inability to stay healthy for longer periods of time. I like him as a goalie, but his injury-proneness is starting to worry me. Well, I'll say it with you then - Krueger is possibly the worst coach I ever saw. He makes Ron Rolston look like Scotty Bowman.
  9. And then he hired Head con-artist Ralph Krueger.
  10. Hall and Staal? Would’ve let those go for nothing, just to get them off the ice. Yes, they were THAT bad here.
  11. Certainly does, but so does everyone playing like they care 😂
  12. Again - I know Philly is a bad team, but the work ethic : I have not seen this effort consistently from a Sabres team for over a decade! So they may not be a good team, but at least they know they need work their butts off to at least have a chance.
  13. Anyone catch Mittelstadt on the backcheck coming off the bench, before the ENG? There’s a guy who wants to win.
  14. That stick save on the line.... Shades of Dom.... Wow!
  15. WTF!! My feed is behind, just read “Asplund” and he scores 😂
  16. Well, bugger me sideways... Thanks RK, Skinner belonged with plugs. Clearly. Thanks.....
  17. They’ll find a way to nix that.....
  18. He certainly makes me hate Head con-artist Raplh Krueger even more.
  19. We actually have few a fast guys on the team??
  20. Sweet setup by Skinner. Wow, all tied!
  21. Doesn’t matter who it was, the Pegula’s hired Botterill who was pretty much the Ralph Krueger of GM’s, so the responsibility falls squarely on Terry & Kim.
  22. Abuse does that to people 😎
  23. Most likely Kim Pegula is interviewing coaching prospects from volleyball, as we speak. You know, because “she knows stuff”.
  24. Nobody’s convinced, but the man has a crap hockey team, missing a superstar and two key players, playing competetive hockey. Let’s at least acknowledge that Head Con-Artist Ralph Krueger was most likely an even worse coach than we know of. I haven’t seen a Sabres team work this hard since 1999. There, I said it.
  25. My point exactly, Tokarski was brilliant. I assume tired legs had something to do with the zone posession, but not all of it.
