Anyone who thinks they like wings "hot" or "nuclear" or whatever needs to eat the Pad Thai that I ordered during this game. Omigosh. Medium. And Pain. PAIN. 1-1 and I don't care pain. But also so tasty... -

I know this one guy who would prefer it if the Sabres spent one draft pick per year (no matter the place in the draft) on a goalie, but so far the team isn't listening...

Of course! I'd rate him a 10 out of 10.

Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?

I'm sure I've seen them replaced after 5 goals in 2 periods, and I'm also sure I've seen goalies replaced after 5 goals in 30 minutes. And this isn't a one-off. There was the Flames game less than a month ago, where UPL should have been pulled in the second, and a Leaves game where he should have been pulled about ten minutes in. Also within a month. This is a pattern of mismanagement. It does nothing for the team or the goalie behind them to leave a guy hanging like that. It is wasteful. It is as stupid as Granato's failures to pull goalies for an extra attacker early enough. (Did anyone watch the Pens the other night? That's how it's done.) Granato mismanages and ruins goaltenders. He doesn't realize that changing goalies mid-game sends a message to the WHOLE TEAM that they're sucking and don't deserve the starter. Maybe Granato has enough good qualities for the Sabres to keep him while he learns about this, but he is absolutely horrible at this at the moment. -

100% correct. Trotz relies on good goaltending. Frankly, he's just a thicker Lindy Ruff. -

Yeah I didn't get to see the post-game presser, either. But without some really weird circumstance (both other goalies hurt), he HAS no good explanation for doing that to a member of his team. And really, not one reporter asked? -

OK I missed the entire game, but am I to be given to understand that Granato left the same goalie in for TEN GOALS?! And if so, what is the point of that? To utterly humiliate the guy? -

Yeah and Granato always looks like he just finished a really good lemon. -

Thankfully I have class for another 45 minutes and can't watch this. -
"falls on him"

The NHL way makes much more sense.

They don't just use an AAV like the NHL does and have the hit transfer with the player?
-
I don't understand this--if they trade him to a new team, and the new team takes on that contract, why are the Bills stuck with a cap hit? Why doesn't that cap hit just go to the new team?

There are news articles about this and there is google to find them. Apparently, the guy in the headlock and his wife/gf/date were the aggressors.

My eyes saw Fasching move his left leg towards the puck, thereby changing the direction of the puck--i.e., *directing* it--toward and into the goal. Since Fasching's left leg is not a hockey stick, it should not have been a goal. -

Numerous. I do a lot of involuntary tax research on AM radio in between segments of Schopp & Bulldog. -

I loved everything you wrote. But the Sabres played uneventful hockey tonight, and it showed, and it failed. -
So I know this guy who brings canned soup to work. Nothing wrong with that. HE EATS IT COLD. He literally pops the top off of the can and just goes at it with a spoon. It's not limited to broth-based soups (e.g. minestrone, chicken noodle, etc.), either; he does this with cream based soups, too. Like lukewarm potato chowder or cream of broccoli, right out of the can. I must mention that these are heat-and-eat soups, not condensed soups. Am I wrong to think this is disgusting? (Sorry--I needed a distraction from the Sabres' performances in the last 48 hours.)
