  1. Granato hasn't read my memo, I see...
  2. Here's what I want to see in the third: 1. The following should not be on the ice, FOR ANY REASON, unless and until the Sabres take a 5-3 lead: Okposo, Greenway, Bryson. Girgensons and Krebs should be used sparingly and only to spell other tired top 3 line forwards; likewise for Lybushkin on D. The other guys have all day tomorrow to rest. Shorten the bench, and do it NOW, not with 5 minutes left. This is an elimination game. 2. Restore Thompson to his natural spot between Skinner and Tuch unless he's mortally wounded. This is not a "dump on Casey" thing for me--this is a "that line succeeds" thing. 3. Granato needs to play the percentages and not be a chicken when it comes to pulling Levi. If the Sabres are down 2 with 4 left (or even 4:30), do it. If down 1 with 2:30 left, do it. This is NOT the time to go all Leslie Frazier and crawl into the shell.
  3. Because Ryan Johnson's agent gave him $1000.
  4. Isn't it top 25% in the league? Or close?
  5. My friend who is a huge Devils fan sent it to me--even she is making fun of these uniforms.
  6. What's next? Jerseys that say "Sweater?"
  7. Don't traditional channels do this as well?
  8. From @dudacek? I don't see it, unless I'm missing something.
  9. He told the Sabres at around 9 or 10 PT today that he would sign sometime? Or he told the Sabres that he would sign at around 9 or 10 PT today? I know we have a little language battle going on in another thread, but this time it makes a difference.
  10. Well, congrats? I guess? And good luck cleaning that up?
  11. I agree with all of it, but these are reminiscent of criticisms of Dahlin. Power is 20. When Dahlin was 20, people (not you, nor do I think you are doing this with Power now) here were questioning his value on the roster. Power is going to learn naturally and, in addition to that, if coached the right way, he'll learn from that too. I expect more shots and fewer dumb passes next year, and the year after, etc.
  12. I don't have info on the Sabres but I did hear that the Devils are giving a guy his first NHL start. I did NOT hear this from any type of inside source. Just water cooler talk. I do wonder whether the person I heard it from was confusing Hughes with a goaltender.
  13. That question has been asked of that poster about half a dozen times by now and there doesn't seem to be an answer.
  14. Lindy Ruff in a battle against mediocre goaltending is a recipe for disaster. Levi can rest on Wednesday.
  15. If he keeps doing this, I'm going to have to like him. I don't think he will. However, I hope he does, and I am willing to like him in return.
  16. Are we doing the forward movement thing again? Anyway, nice win!
  17. Oh, you're right, of course. But better to just get another D in the fold.
  18. I don't think it belongs in this thread, mind you, but it is one of the best things I ever have seen. Like Swamp, I watch (and share) it annually.
  19. Me too and yes.
  20. OK, here's the thing. The Sabres do have a GREAT top three. Maybe even four. But behind them it's very shaky already, and when one goes down--and they always do--someone needs to come up. Overrating prospects? I don't think that's happening here, at least not in my discussion with you. Let's say you're right, and he's another Bryson. Thing is, the Sabres' org NEEDS another Bryson. Like five more. It's that bad. The Sabres need two legit D and five Brysons. Overrating draft picks, on the other hand--an end of the second round 2024 pick has about a 35% chance of playing an NHL game by 2028 ( @Taro T and @LGR4GM can correct me if I'm wrong)--is a bigger threat.
