Okposo won't be back (do you remember the heat I took for saying that just two months ago?!) and Hinostroza won't be, either, at least not with the big club. I question your third and fourth lines. I don't understand the purpose of putting Oloffson on a checking line, and I don't understand the purpose of putting Greenway on a less-skilled line that is supposed to maybe score or do a pullup.

This is an excellent example of an opinion that I don't necessarily agree with, but which is well-written and well-reasoned. have

Piggy-backing on this: In 2014, the Sabres had 3 2d round picks, as they did for 2023 before today. The picks? Compher, Hurley, Bailey. One is an NHL regular who benefits from being on a stacked team, one is a sometime-callup to the NHL, and one, to my knowledge, is Norway. To trade a chance at one of those three for a known regular player is a smart move every time.

Rasmus Asplund traded to Nashville for a 2025 7th Round Pick

Nah that was autocorrect and I took care of it immediately--before you hit "submit reply," even. -
Mine is a C. They had the opportunity to make a mid-term (i.e., not a rental, but not 3 years or more) improvement on the blueline and balked. I like the addition of Greenway, and I'm a little more than ok with the Stillman deal. I do not think there was a legit deal for a goalie; I think Nashville's asking price for Saros likely was high (if that's the goalie that the Preds were trading to begin with). They also passed up the opportunity to take on salary for picks. The Sabres pass, and do so with an average grade.

Agree w the Brisson thing, but players notice when a guy gets moved because he needs an opportunity. I think they know who Asplund is--he's a plugger, and the players know the pluggers on their own teams as well as on other teams. -

And this, and the Bjork move, have value; players notice this stuff and consider it when discerning possible destinations. It’s like the opposite of the Hall trade (other teams notice weakness).
