  1. This might not be on the Sabres. A goalie coming into the league has to have his equipment approved in Toronto. I know this because I've been in the room where they inspect it. I remember EJ McGuire leading us around explaining that it takes about a week. Granted, this was a while back--like 2011 or something maybe. It was right before McGuire died, I remember that.
  2. Bulldog asked the question out of nowhere, actually. After Adams said that the team would wear special warmups, Schopp asked when it is schedule for, and was surprised when Adams replied, "Monday." It's really not been promoted at all (neither are the other special nights, apparently, because I was completely unaware of Military Night and I thought that the cancer thing stopped years ago) so that's why I don't think fans will know about it.
  3. A number of teams including Chicago.
  4. I've no idea about last year. I just don't remember. Player participation would be the concern. The fans won't care and most probably won't even know about it.
  5. per Adams on WGR a few minutes ago. Hopefully without incident.
  6. That's ok. ICE doesn't. He watched practice today and skated after. (Buffalo News.)
  7. 1. No, I really tried to avoid it! Please don't read into anything. 2. No. That's not realistic. He can't practice with the team until he gets the work visa.
  8. The opposite. I believe he is a disciple of Nandor.
  9. There are immigration lawyers that can push this stuff through quickly. I have no desire to cast aspersions upon ownership or management, but something is wrong if they don't have such a lawyer ready to go at a minute's notice.
  10. That's ridiculous. Frankly, it seems unheard of. Players from all over the world get traded across the border all the time and I can't remember a six day wait for a work permit. And more, I had a partner who did this stuff for NHL players once upon a time, and I know it never took him this long.
  11. Debbie in accounting. She's a pain in the neck, always brings the same taco dip on holidays, and usually drinks the last of the coffee without refilling it.
  12. I gotta admit, it's an interesting hypothesis. This is the best chance of an early Boston elimination, so I'm all for it.
  13. Are you new or something?
  14. I'm one of the people who wanted to give Comrie a chance--a CHANCE--at being a decent KA signing--and you're right.
  15. Which year? Signing his own, in Ullmark, would have been a start. There have been goalies available every year since 2020. There still are.
  16. For different reasons, and yes. Granato: He's a development coach. The team won't need that past year three; they won't be youngsters anymore. (Yes, there always will be rookies on any team, and that is not the point.) If he's not leading the team to the playoffs, and if his decision-making and roster selection remains as poor as it has been in recent weeks, out and get a coach who knows how to lead teams of players who are established NHLers. Again, by next season, the Sabres will have plenty of those. Adyms: If the Sabres don't make the playoffs next season, then there still is a problem in net, because the forwards are looking good for the future, the defense needs about one more guy (I know some of you dream of a defense where everyone is top-4 quality but that's not realistic), and that's it. I've been frustrated with him since 2020. Who cares whether it's in the same year? Why should it matter? If they're both insufficient, they're both susceptible to firing.
  17. Pegula has nothing to do with it. Anyway. No. No playoffs means no Granato AND no Adams, as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Next year is playoffs or there is no conversation.
  19. What do feed stores need with plastic AM radio watches?
  20. The building is, I don't know about the paper. But the Grit building is right across from the hotel that I stay at when I'm there.
  21. No, Grit is a ***** newspaper based in Williamsport that tricks kids into selling subscriptions for prizes that never work.
  22. I want to give you the thumbs up, the laughing face, and the Stanley cup emoji for this.
  23. I really wanna know... ...how do they get what was obviously a low-def video into such hi-def today?
  24. "Craig, I don't care if it's 10, 12, or 21, I don't change goalies."
