  1. My eyes saw Fasching move his left leg towards the puck, thereby changing the direction of the puck--i.e., *directing* it--toward and into the goal. Since Fasching's left leg is not a hockey stick, it should not have been a goal.
  2. Numerous. I do a lot of involuntary tax research on AM radio in between segments of Schopp & Bulldog.
  3. Do you owe back taxes of $10,000 or more?
  4. I loved everything you wrote. But the Sabres played uneventful hockey tonight, and it showed, and it failed.
  5. So I know this guy who brings canned soup to work. Nothing wrong with that. HE EATS IT COLD. He literally pops the top off of the can and just goes at it with a spoon. It's not limited to broth-based soups (e.g. minestrone, chicken noodle, etc.), either; he does this with cream based soups, too. Like lukewarm potato chowder or cream of broccoli, right out of the can. I must mention that these are heat-and-eat soups, not condensed soups. Am I wrong to think this is disgusting? (Sorry--I needed a distraction from the Sabres' performances in the last 48 hours.)
  6. So I was sitting next to this dude in a sports bar in a non-hockey city. He had (still has) little experience with the sport, and asked me why there was a delay. I explained that a goal cannot be scored off of a kick, and I used the exact phrase, "distinct kicking motion." He looked up at one of the ninety-seven replays and said "if that's not a kick, I don't know what a kick is." This is probably how non-NFL fans view the catch rules. Actually, sometimes, it's how I view the catch rules. It was a kick, it was a bad call, and oh well. My theories as to *why* the bad call was made are above. And @Doohickie this is what I mean about bartenders bringing their Roku sticks in for ESPN+ games; the bartender in question only brought it because he wanted to watch his Pens.
  7. Why? I'm not sleeping with him...
  8. Fine. But the Sabres did what against Columbus a week ago? That's the difference. That's why the Sabres are now in 10th and the Pens in 8th.
  9. Yeah but the Pens didn't lose their game, did they?
  10. What a bunch of time wasting. This game was there for the taking, with just a little bit more oomph. Instead, the Sabres played like they were hung over. A few notes: 1. That second Islanders goal is very partly on UPL for the rebound, but mostly on Paetsch or Clague or whatever AAAA defenseman is wearing 38 this season. A better defenseman has his stick out in time. 2. Fasching's so-called goal is a goal for the Islanders, but it wouldn't have been one for the 2023 Sabres. (It might have been one for the 2007 Sabres, though.) Perceived bad teams get the bad calls... 3. ...and on that, the call to Toronto either took long enough for them to get it right, or long enough for instructions from higher-ups to be passed down. We'll never know which. But still, an honest, less dream-like effort from the Sabres would have resulted in a win. NYI isn't that good. And the Sabres are running out of time to have efforts like this--did they forget that they have to make up for what happened in November? They can't be part of an "85% league." They've got to go 100% until April if they want to make it.
  11. The Sabres need to wake up and start playing higher event hockey.
  12. Oh also I'm not forgiving Lucic or Neal. The Sens lost that game. That's what makes his smugness so awesome.
  13. Yeah if you get a cool bartender who brings a Roku stick to work, it's doable.
  14. Drewland *****-face Stafford.
  15. He certainly was.
  16. Yeah we definitely see different guys here.
  17. I don't think so at all. I think he's been solid most of the season. Is he ideally a third pairing defenseman? Sure. But he's not garbage, either. He's exactly the type of guy you want on a team, because you can't pay all six D top dollar.
  18. Yeah but he was absolutely fantastic against Tampa on Saturday.
  19. Eleven

    Who sits?

I think this decision needs to be made on a game by game basis, with consideration of the opponent and of injuries.
  20. He does deserve it, and Karlsson will win it even though it would be more appropriate to award the Masterson to Karlsson and the Norris to Dahlin.
  21. Graham had sent out a tweet a couple of days ago asking anyone and everyone for the old video footage. Apparently Straw had it.
  22. ESPN+ gets commercial break privileges not ordinarily available to MSG?
