  1. https://buffalonews.com/news/local/legends-wins-bills-stadium-food-and-beverage-contract/article_47efad64-f450-11ed-b124-ab618ae018f0.html#tracking-source=home-top-story Finally. Finally, Jacobs doesn't get to serve substandard fare, under whatever brand name, at at least one WNY venue. The chokehold he has had on this community--crappy food at the stadium, crappy food at the arena, I think he still has the airport, is over. Other cities with Jacobs-based concessions are actually ok. Not great, but ok. He's abused us locally. And I'm glad he's out of Orchard Park. The arena should be next.
  2. I used to call it Rangeritis but it is absolutely a disease rooted in Toronto now.
  3. No one stepped up, but the spirit of @deluca67 moved me to create this thread for you. I won't watch much of it. There is no team I like in it: 1. Carolina. This team started the ZIP code restrictions for ticket purchases, in 2006. Their fans were *nasty* in 2006 when the only reason the team (which is separate from fans, yes) won was because of injuries. They accused @Drunkard or someone of eating babies. No, I cannot root for them. 2. Dallas, should be obvious, and Hull still won't admit it. 3. Florida. This is all about the no one wins before the Sabres win thing. 4. Vegas. Same. For a lot of Sabres fans, it's about Eichel, and I'm not going to rain on that parade. Rather, for me, it's more about #3, and about the cap circumvention.
  4. RIght now it certainly is.
  5. Not quite, it's... This is pretty close. I'm not sure Adams always listened, but I did hope someone was whispering.
  6. I've always hoped that Adams was "handled from beneath" (no this is NOT THAT @inkman ) and him leaving basically kills the ability to do that, so time to hire Dubas and move on from Adams, who has been a C or C+. Or move on from Adams and give it to Karamanos, which also works.
  7. Rosen looks like he should be bluer and courting Smurfette.
  8. They're not going to fire the coach yet--he's only been there for a little over a year and he's the guy who did get them to the conference final. They definitely should be looking for a goalie.
  9. Same here & I agree w/ the posters who recognize that Eichel's defensive development began here.
  10. This is a heck of a series. I don’t want it to end. But I cannot stay up much longer so I hope they at least give me a game 7.
  11. The league was not forced to sign a contract allowing preemption by May baseball and cornhole tournaments but it did. What about the Canadian broadcasters, too? And I hardly am the only one placing blame where it is due: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/nhls-decisions-leave-fans-scratching-their-heads/
  12. Well, eventually he did ride--or drive--into the sunset. He was my Uber driver a few years ago. Retired, just doing it to keep busy, etc. Really nice guy, too.
  13. I watched a game on TNT last night. Tuesday's game, if necessary, is on TNT. So no. It's just more minor league nonsense from the NHL.
  14. We can send you a cake with a file in it or something. Just tell us where, but with clues so your captors don't know we're helping you.
  15. Minor league. TBS, TNT, ABC, all available and all have shown playoff games.
  16. How is tomorrow's game a 10pm ET start? Why does the NHL sabotage itself like this? Like even if you live in Barrow, Mother's Day brunch is over by what, 4ET? The league has the two biggest stars of the 2015 draft playing against one another, the US "darling" team (I hate to say it but it is) against supposedly the best player in hockey, and they start the game right before half of North America's bedtime? So, so foolish.
  17. We really need to move away from speaking into devices that don't know the difference between addition and edition.
  18. Yeah I had already "published" it when I realized the game was live and figured, well, I can take an L here and there.
  19. Assuming that Appert gets the lineup sheet right this time.
  20. You're missing a big one there. Skinner at 9. Skinner, Tuch, Thompson, Cozens, Samuelsson alone are over 32M through 2026, when Tuch is up for a new contract. Add in Dahlin at 12M and you're already over 44M. Power isn't in that calculation yet, Levi will be coming due, and then there's the decision about Tuch. The Sabres very easily could be at 60M or more for 8 players very shortly. There's no Mittlestadt (currently 2.5 and will get a raise), Olofsson, Krebs, Quinn, or even Jokiharju or Lybushkin in there, either. Even role-players like Jost (2), Greenway (3) and Okposo (6) cost something, and those roles will need to be filled. It's a large part of the reason why I want the Sabres to trade for a young defenseman rather than blow bucks on one in UFA. The time is now, it isn't in 2028.
  21. "Queen City" is a common nickname for the second-largest city in a lot of states. You've really never heard "nickel city"? https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=nickel+city&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#ip=1 (Note that the one business that isn't local is a Buffalo bar in Texas.)
  22. What a glorious night.
