  1. I don't hate this idea. I don't want them to hire Taylor full time, but this isn't bad. If the planets align, the Preds go 2-12 to start the year and fire Laviolette, for example...
  2. His reply to a commenter in the thread makes it pretty clear that it's about Harrington. And I think Vogl is just being petty at this point.
  3. Unbelievable. Truly an amazing two days.
  4. Bump for hilarity.
  5. That, yesterday, is their equivalent of the Bills comeback game as far as I'm concerned.
  6. It was.
  7. It's not "because playoffs"; it's because Boston. And he's not a normal offender.
  8. Here's the video:
  9. Fair point on the timing of the trade. Kane should have been gone much earlier. But we don't know what was offered. No. It's over.
  10. I can't fairly blame him for trading Kane.
  11. I really want to see that show.
  12. Boston will win it all; I'm done.
  13. Yeah, that's more consistent with my recollection.
  14. I wouldn't doubt it.
  15. Oh the arena itself is fine, but the crowd was never into Caps games when I lived there. For that matter, they really weren't into Bullets/Wizards games, either. That's atmosphere to me. What you saw is truly special, though.
  16. Best Amenities: ACC Best Atmosphere: the Aud, maybe the Arena during playoffs. Worst Amenities: Rich and it isn't even close. Worst Atmosphere: MCI Center.
  17. NHL: Aud, Arena, MCI Center, MSG, ACC, Wrigley, Rich. MLB: Olympic, Skydome, Jacobs, Camden, Wrigley, Nationals, Citi. NFL: Rich, M&T, FedEx. NBA: MCI Center.
  18. It's money. The league already committed to adding two more teams this coming year. Plus, they said it was money.
  19. I read this and thought kilograms rather than strikes.
  20. In 2015, there wasn’t a professional women’s hockey league in the United States. Prior to our launch just four years ago, there was never a movement for others to take over women’s hockey, or for any wide-scale league in North America.
  21. They're giving up too early. If their goal is to utterly destroy women's professional hockey, they're on track. Some sports simply don't pay well enough for the athlete to learn a living wage. Frankly, I'd bet it's the majority of sports, and I'm certain that it's so for the vast majority of athletes. Wasn't there some noise just a month or two ago about how A and AA ballplayers have to *gasp* work in the offseason? Do these players realize, when they go see a local band or something, that those musicians also have other jobs? That they can't spend all their time working on their music and practicing their craft? That their gigs don't give them health insurance, either? I'd love for Hillary Knight to earn hundreds of thousands per year playing hockey, but it isn't going to happen, and shutting the door on the NWHL isn't going to increase her chances of doing what she loves even with another job.
  22. Just make it available for first-round picks and let the teams decide.
  23. Reinhart.
