I wouldn't doubt it.

Oh the arena itself is fine, but the crowd was never into Caps games when I lived there. For that matter, they really weren't into Bullets/Wizards games, either. That's atmosphere to me. What you saw is truly special, though.

Best Amenities: ACC Best Atmosphere: the Aud, maybe the Arena during playoffs. Worst Amenities: Rich and it isn't even close. Worst Atmosphere: MCI Center.

NHL: Aud, Arena, MCI Center, MSG, ACC, Wrigley, Rich. MLB: Olympic, Skydome, Jacobs, Camden, Wrigley, Nationals, Citi. NFL: Rich, M&T, FedEx. NBA: MCI Center.

It's money. The league already committed to adding two more teams this coming year. Plus, they said it was money.

I read this and thought kilograms rather than strikes.

In 2015, there wasn’t a professional women’s hockey league in the United States. Prior to our launch just four years ago, there was never a movement for others to take over women’s hockey, or for any wide-scale league in North America.
-
They're giving up too early. If their goal is to utterly destroy women's professional hockey, they're on track. Some sports simply don't pay well enough for the athlete to learn a living wage. Frankly, I'd bet it's the majority of sports, and I'm certain that it's so for the vast majority of athletes. Wasn't there some noise just a month or two ago about how A and AA ballplayers have to *gasp* work in the offseason? Do these players realize, when they go see a local band or something, that those musicians also have other jobs? That they can't spend all their time working on their music and practicing their craft? That their gigs don't give them health insurance, either? I'd love for Hillary Knight to earn hundreds of thousands per year playing hockey, but it isn't going to happen, and shutting the door on the NWHL isn't going to increase her chances of doing what she loves even with another job.

Just make it available for first-round picks and let the teams decide.

Reinhart.

A kid just out of college isn't going to turn down a $100K/yr (AHL) or $1M/yr (NHL) job to wait a year.
-
I can see a deal whereby a first round CHL pick is eligible for the AHL, and in return, the teams get to retain NCAA rights for an extra year following graduation. Two things the NHLPA doesn't care about: CHL and NCAA. If Fox doesn't change his mind, the Rangers were idiots, because apparently they were going to get him in the summer of 2020 anyway.

Colorado, I find the least offensive. I'll deal with it if Dallas or NYI wins. I don't want SJ or Columbus or St. Louis winning one before Buffalo does, but I suppose in the last case, we can at least enjoy some O'Reilly melodrama on SabreSpace. Carolina and especially Boston can ***** right off.

Expect this to be addressed in the forthcoming* lockout. *Because Heaven forbid they negotiate, you know, now.

Is this one of those Jimmy Vesey type situations?
-
Yes, because I have to constantly explain to my elderly father what it means. Then he asks me why they don't just call the guy an end or a linebacker.
-
Oh, most definitely they were. I knew those terms as a seven-year-old. On your comments re: Beane: He's got me in his corner now, although I'm still disturbed by that trade with Miami last draft.
-
You'll find out soon enough, smart guy.
-
It's always in all caps, too: EDGE. Annoying. It's either a LB or a DE. Will, Sam, Mike, and Jack have been around for at least forty years.
-
I swear that dude sounded like Milbury and not McGuire. Yeah, that's not helping his case.
-
Milbury. It's a three-person deal, with Kenny Albert in the lead. Well, she's the best person on the broadcast, medal or no.
-
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with this TV crew. We've got Kenny Albert, who wouldn't know a puck from a cheeseburger; some unnamed woman who seems to know what's up and who actually is on point; and Milbury. And of course the two idiots are crowding her out of the conversation. What is this version of hell?
-
That is wonderful. And then you had to go and ruin it with a clickhole link.

No thank you.
