It's an interesting read. Thanks for posting it. Some thoughts: 1. He presumes Comrie would clear waivers. I'm not so sure. 2. He also presumes Subban is going to leave, and again, I'm not so sure. 3. He completely ignores Saros as a trade option. 4. He has Savoie on the 23-man roster, but on the bench. I don't think that's going to happen. If he stays, he plays. 5. I like his proposal of Hanifin as a back-up option for Pesce if a Pesce deal isn't there. 6. Speaking of which, his proposal is Brett Murray, Olofsson, and 2024 1st for Pesce. I think it's pretty close to the mark. 7. He seems to think that the price for Carter Hart in a trade would be similar to the price for Hellebyuck, and I think he's out of his mind. (And Hart doesn't move me anyway.)

The Jacksonville Icemen are the Sabres New ECHL Affiliate?

Other than goalies, it seems like never. -
NHL advises against and/or bans cause-themed warmup jerseys.

I don't question the propriety; I question the utility. And I think Woody has a point, these things do feel watered down. -
Yahoo reports it as a ban: https://news.yahoo.com/nhl-bans-pride-jerseys-ice-113000009.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAFa21gsr0_z1DVDq7mUrYBME0g4pmYHWPHFgWW4xgUATfypc--UjbNfHUHFufVe65NipV7FwiLGjuSu5VfRU4zLV-gtYhGyfhqsWBnYcvBVntT56SMDqLiXN3TXaz05-maAeJ459OaRXadMl-HPa3iiApfI4lJopg_KRVDn2_81g CNN reports it as advice: https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/23/us/mlb-nhl-pride-jerseys/index.html The three I know of are "hockey fights cancer," veterans, and pride sweaters; there may be others. Hopefully a mod can move comments in from the Around the NHL thread.

Smart idea; I will start it and hopefully one of the mods can move posts.

According to Pierre Lebrun, Sabres have interest in Brett Pesce.

Yes. I can get you tickets. -
Again, I agree; I just don't think the NHL having a pride night does anything for the cause. Same with cancer, same with vets.
-
I don't think it really generates any serious funds for fighting cancer. It might generate "awareness," but I'm pretty sure we're all aware of cancers and the need for cures.

Well, @pastajoe and @Flashsabre it's a simple thing to give me a red X, but why? What's the disagreement?

That was then...

What time and what team? (Just text me if you don't want this to be public.) I'll try to go! It's better than seeing them hovering over your house.

I think he was an Islander. EDIT: He was a Penguin.

Agreed. The Sabres should not be spending assets--whether picks, players/prospects, or just plain cap space--on a 3C right now. Not a need. Now, if they were to trade one of the 3C/4Cs in a package to get something more, and get another player capable of that spot in the package back, sure, but the motivation can't be to improve at 3C. It's gotta be to improve at D/G.

I still don't understand why every team needs to use these stupid movie poster things to announce transactions. Maybe I'm just getting old.

O'Reilly's brother?

Running list of SabreSpace charity and no-money wagers.

That second one is very, very tempting... -
That stuff was always a virtue-signaling gimmick anyway. I don't think the NHL's contributions to cancer research, or veterans' orgs, or to pride groups, or whatever really moved the needle.

I'll clarify--Conroy or *Huska* (had to look him up) or both?
-
I've got a fun question for when this hard one is completed.
-
Is it GM or coach or both?
-
It just seems sometimes--like here and in the OEL thread--that you ask these questions and then jump at people who disagree with your preconceived answer. Maybe I'm just reading you wrong. And I agreed with you in part in that other thread, too. Anyway, I'm w/ @Weave, I really don't think you can judge the off-season until about 20-30 games in, unless he does absolutely NOTHING, in which case I think he's open to criticism and possibly summary execution.
