  1. It's hockey season again. Well, almost. The game will be streamed locally on sabres.com . Roster: Forwards 9 Jack Eichel 13 Jimmy Vesey 22 Johan Larsson 27 Curtis Lazar 28 Zemgus Girgensons 42 Dylan Cozens 43 Conor Sheary 52 Andrew Oglevie 53 Jeff Skinner 71 Evan Rodrigues 72 Tage Thompson 81 Remi Elie Defense 6 Marco Scandella 8 Casey Nelson 10 Henri Jokiharju 26 Rasmus Dahlin 33 Colin Miller 44 Brandon Hickey 58 John Gilmour Goaltenders 34 Jonas Johansson 40 Carter Hutton
  2. Up by four hundredths of a point (prior to stat correction) and that's with a 0 for Jeffery. This is going to be tight.
  3. Golisano did step up. That is fair. I'm trying to think of another guy who kept a team in Buffalo. His name doesn't rhyme with "Rump" or "Rongiovi"; that much I know.
  4. It would have been located right where it is. It is Bettman who kept the Sabres in Buffalo, not Golisano (even the article makes this clear) and CERTAINLY not Quinn, who didn't have the money to buy the team.
  5. He's the one who made the calls on Briere, Drury, and the slug jersey. The team would have been fine without him.
  6. It is amazing that you lionize Golisano and criticize Pegula. You know who got the Sabres to the conference finals FOUR times? Bet you won't lionize him. But enjoy your trolling. Hope you catch a bottom-feeder.
  7. Nope. It worked the other way. Greenberg was desperate to meet Pegula, per the article. But please, don't let your *****-colored glasses get in the way of fact.
  8. Larry Quinn destroyed this team and can ***** right off.
  9. Tough call here,
  10. The highest cap hit in Minnesota Wild history is less than what the Sabres paid Hasek 20 years ago.
  11. Like I said, I do not see him rising to that level.
  12. CANARIES!!!!! I cannot believe it!
  13. I'm still not sure about Binnington. He has all of the confidence in the world now, to be sure, and that is huge for a goalie. But maybe a flash in the pan? We've all seen those, too. We will see.
  14. May Doohickie and his 53 Bicycles live on forever....
  15. Let’s take an economic look at it. Do you think that Ullmark would fetch the 31st draft pick in a trade? I do not see him rising to that level.
  16. There's no reason not to be patient, but I don't think he's going to be quite as good as Marty Biron. Hey, I'd love to be wrong on this one.
  17. I would consider that to be a success. I think so too.
  18. This is brilliantly observant--I'm not sure Eichel's tantrums are staged, though.
  19. Since it appears you are actually asking a question and have temporarily unsnarked: The son of Hank Greenberg is the man who brokered the deal between Pegula and the Wilson Estate. The article implies that the personal connection Pegula felt with Greenberg, because Greenberg's father was Pegula's hero, was the "seal the deal" element that led Pegula to hire Greenberg (who had previously turned down both John Bongiovi and Donald Trump, per the article) in connection with Pegula's purchase of the Bills.
  20. Nope. By this point in numerous goaltenders' careers, I knew they'd be elite. I don't see it with Ullmark.
  21. Please. When you can read, let me know. My apologies. I got my eastern provinces mixed up. Taro, not you. Edited.
  22. Aww, PA is on his "I'm not rich enough to own a team so I should criticize everyone who is" thing again. Notice, never answered the question above. IT WAS IN THE LINK AND IN TARO'S POST. If you weren't so concerned with soapboxing...it was the Detroit Tigers.
  23. You're going to enjoy that hotel. And if you do get tix to that Blackhawks game, check out the meetup thread. A bunch of Sabrespace people will be there together.
  24. I don't recall it either, but I don't doubt it. Murray was not known for tact.
  25. As always, I am going to let this latest AB thing play out. No one has enough information to make a judgment except for Ms. Taylor and him.
