She also told me that the wait in the evenings is about an hour, and on weekends, 1:30 to 2:00. They only have two fryers (and if you've ever seen their galley, you'll know there's no room for more). I kind of feel like they're victims of their success. So again, I hope they don't turn into Anchor.

If the Sabres left, and the league decided that some weird regular season game would be played here, I wouldn't go.

I really, really want you to get there.

I was in Allentown for lunch today for about the first time in forever, so I had wings at Gabriel's Gate. Not the same. The "extra crispy" was kind of ignored; the sauce seemed off, too--it had plenty of butter, but there wasn't enough of a vinegar taste and the white pepper seemed to dominate. I talked with the bartender about it (I ate at the bar) and she told me that since some national article about 18 months ago, they've been absolutely slammed and haven't been able to attend to quality as much. I really, REALLY hope the Gate doesn't go the way of Anchor.

Ok folks. Pay attention here. THIS is an apt Matt Ellis analogy. A sponge is a moderate-quality, common, and simple cleaning device which is inexpensive and susceptible to substitution. It's in everyone's team, but it's rarely the hero of the cleaning lineup. It is not bad. It is not good. It simply is what it is. A sponge. A happy Matt Ellis sponge.

St. Paul. I suppose that technically Bloomington is a suburb of Minneapolis and not St. Paul, but I'm not being too pedantic here and I doubt that PA is.

I've changed? (I wouldn't consider Roch a neutral site, btw.)

Ehrhoff is German. I have no idea whether the Sabs played in Prague, but Ehrhoff is why the Sabres played at Adler Mannheim, I think?

They are especially delicious. The Czechs prepare them with a seasoning unlike anything we have in the States, and then they sauté them so lightly. It's such a tender dish.

I've been waiting to hear these words from you for 14 years.

Two in Paul Hamilton, Ontario. And one in a then-former, now current NHL city, right?
-
They played 15 games before the end of the day on Nov. 2. I think there are few other teams that did that. Like maybe one other. And yet, the Sabs were fine.

Hank has a point. It was a widely-enough believed rumor that it would have shaken me (were I in Hasek's skates) even if it just were a rumor. And I'm not sure it was just a rumor.

Each of these posts is correct. Neither will matter. -
There already has been a compression. Just remember that it is November.

Only if you trade a quarterback to me

None of this has to do with my point about audacity. Perhaps I did not articulate it well. -

There is an audacity right now that has no roots in any American history at all. For many, that is a considerably larger problem than policy decisions. -

I don't know if it's happened before, but shouldn't the House Sgt at Arms be doing something about it to show that Congress is serious? As for the second part, no no no way. Three branches is enough, and I don't want the Justice Dept. belonging to either of the other two. -

The Senate will do what a majority (and they would need 2/3) Senate in unity with the President normally does; it will not convict. Cf. 1998. But that is not the travesty. The travesty--the absurd and distorted thing--is the president. If McConnell refuses to bring it to the floor--as he has done with quite a few bills, because he is cowardly, well, that might be another travesty, and might also be a Constitutional crisis. -
That is likely more reliable than the wikipedia article I looked at. Still, Chicago gave him $5M for a reason.

Nope; they made him a two-year offer. He chose one year, more money per year (prorating the NYI offer), in Chicago.
