  1. It should be "get rid of Trump at all costs" for the Democrats. It doesn't need to be a policy initiative this year.
  2. I don't know about best ever, but a very, very good team.
  3. Ugh sorry. This has been just such a bad time for you and Swamp. Hang in there, guys. I haven't lost a parent, but I have suffered loss as you are aware, and if you ever want to talk, just let me know.
  4. Hang in there and be well.
  5. I could see Klobuchar. She's from the right state and has the right amount of experience.
  6. I think the above was the point of weave's comment below.
  7. Saw that & I agree w/ your assessment of JW.
  8. He's on foot. Had he driven, he'd already be there.
  9. 4 would be the absolute limit unless they shared rooms, which they typically do not. I think 3 is more realistic if you're going to have the referee crews stay there as well.
  10. Soft pretzels only, here.
  11. It's also very easy. My ten-step program will have you popping in no time! 1. Get saucepan. 2. Add oil. 3. Heat. 4. Add kernels. 5. Cover. 6. Listen for silence. 7. Empty popcorn into a 1-gal plastic bag. 8. Dump in seasoning and shake. 9. Wash pan. 10. Wipe hands on pants.
  12. Geez. I'm so sorry. Hang in there.
  13. Also, shouldn't the title be changed to read, "acrost?"
  14. I made some Montreal steak seasoned popcorn the other night. It was tremendous. I know, keep it to the popcorn thread...
  15. The Stampede played at The Aud and the Wings played one season at the Arena. I know I didn't go to any games; I didn't live here then. I also suspect that unless the tickets and parking were free and I had absolutely NOTHING to do (like last night), I likely wouldn't have gone even if I did live here.
  16. Just like it says. Imagine that you're the GM, and the team can have only one of Jack Eichel or Rasmus Dahlin, at their current ages and skill levels. Whom do you choose?
  17. There's one around here somewhere but I'm not having an easy time finding it at the moment. I think @New Scotland (NS) may have started it? I don't know what that tweeter is going on about.
  18. Who said that?
  19. If Jensen is who I think he is, he is irresponsible. Again, if he's who I think he is (difficult to tell because I was driving), he was on the radio (with some other broadcast guy) as recently as LAST WEEK claiming that this whole thing is a hoax. If it's not him, well, he's employed by a network which as recently as last week had a team of two people claiming that this whole thing is a hoax. My general suggestion is that we should get news from newspeople and religion from religious people, but your mileage may vary. EDIT: After digging a bit, Jensen is not one of the two idiots that I heard last week, but I am aware of EWTN's agenda. My bet is that the question was leading to an argument that other businesses should reopen, not that grocery stores should close. Happy to discuss that agenda further in the religion thread if anyone would like.
  20. Meatloaf would smoke an entire bag and then mix potato chips into things? Makes sense in a way, I suppose.
  21. I don't know how this popped up in my YouTube recommendations, but here is/are YOUR BUFFALO STAMPEDE against the St. Louis Vipers. The Stampede has all of the elements of extreme 90s espn2 action! Black, purple, and teal color scheme? Check. Edgy-looking number font? Check. Collective noun for a nickname? CHECK! Behind the bench? Well, that's former Sabre Lou Franceschetti. So grab a Zima, break out the distressed denim, and maybe get an order of shrimp poppers, pizza shooters, or extreme fajitas, because it's roller hockey time! I really need life to return to some semblance of normalcy...
  22. "he was playing his viola..."
  23. I don't remember. I was just glad not to have to rely on usenet anymore.
  24. Not sure where you live, but I'm in Buffalo and I'd rather see the economic impact (even just the players, refs and TV crews) here than elsewhere. There's a prestige factor, too. Indeed it would!
  25. If we're through this in August, the folks of Lake Placid would absolutely, definitely, and without hesitation roll out the welcome mat for the playoffs. What their ancestors did to land the 1932 Olympics was amazing^ and that's well before the Olympics were anything like what they are now. Like you, I don't think we'll be ready for live sports in August. ^Excellent book that covers this topic and more about the '32 Olympics: https://www.amazon.com/Speed-Kings-Winter-Olympics-Fastest/dp/1592409091
