Gaustad gets my vote because of the face-offs. O'Reilly barely beat Peca in my vote. It's a really tough call. Both wanted out when things weren't going their way personally, so there's some selfishness on both sides. Peca's hits were crushing, but I'll bet O'Reilly's would be just as much so with the same rules. Peca was the better leader; O'Reilly the more talented player offensively. I think there will be enough leaders on this hypothetical team, so I went with O'Reilly.

Omigosh I'm so glad I did this. My dwindling savings won't be happy, but some people like retail therapy and others like gastronomic therapy...

I don't know that much, either, but viruses take a while to analyze. Then they have to find the right vaccine. HIV is a virus, for example, and we've known about it for what, 40 years? We can treat some/most of the symptoms now, but we don't have a vaccine--and not for lack of effort / funding.

Just like it says. The GM does NOT inherit the "hand he was dealt"; they all start at the same hypothetical baseline. You know the three choices. Nothin' else to do today anyway, so might as well try to justify your pick.

In other words, they just haven't hired the right GM. -
It's insane to pay Larsson $4M. Not hard; insane.

Nah even Lazenby got with Emanuelle. -

Yeah, this was discussed upthread a week or so ago. It ended up in a pretty big argument.

He's probably talking to Vogl. Seriously, though, Vogl has a lot more experience in the business than Lysowski has. It wouldn't surprise me if Vogl were correct. -

That conflicts directly with TBN's report that Sinclair, Bandura, and van Rysdam had been laid off, not fired. Same... -

A source told The Buffalo News that Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill is among more than three dozen employees who took a temporary tiered percentage pay cut. Missed opportunity. -
I was so irritable on Easter Sunday that I didn't bother with a special meal. I'm making up for it with takeout from Oliver's tomorrow. It's been four long weeks and it's time to treat myself a bit. Unfortunately my favorite appetizer^ is not takeout-able, but everything else that I like on the menu is there! ^it is a soft-boiled egg (in shell) with generous pieces of smoked pork belly in it, topped with a truffle foam. It's tough to think of an egg that's worth $9. This one is.

Ketchup is for children.

Rarely do I come to the defense of Jason Botterill, but it may be that Larsson only was willing to sign for one year, or only willing to sign for one year at that salary.

I think we're picking up on that too. I wouldn't worry too much about the US using emergency powers to keep all the ventilators in the country. Or drinking it, in the case of Florida.

LOL Florida has deemed WWE to be an essential business: https://uproxx.com/prowrestling/florida-deems-wwe-essential-business/ What is it in the water in that state?
-
Exactly.

Which is fine, but if you're him, are you going to take $2.25M to stay here or are you going to take $2.25M to go to a contender?
-
Fair point; I do not know how well he fits in.
-
OK then I hope it's positive--but that you recover. Is your immune system back up to 100%?
-
Ugh hopefully it is another negative!
-
That's what I'm trying to say. It will cost the Sabres more to keep him than he will receive from a team that actually is poised to win.
-
He's not coming back unless he's grossly overpaid

Learning that Taro didn't know something about a hockey player is like learning that Santa doesn't exist.
