The cup and char is thick, though. If you look at heathen NYC pizza, the pepperoni is really thin and flat. I don't know how it's done, but it isn't because it's thin. And Bocce is the best pizza on Earth.

Sabrespace currently has two mods and one owner. One of the mods has a clear bias (freeman, I like you, I really do, but this is not something you are good at); the other is really busy with her life. I'd like to propose that the board adds two more. And my candidates would be: @Thorny and @MattPie These are posters who have proven themselves (1) to be knowledgeable about hockey, (2) Sabres fans, (3) politically neutral, and, most importantly, (4) temperate in their responses to others, I don't know if they'd want the job, but I would welcome them if they did.

I don't know why Flagg and True left, even if they did. But "Hoss" did not leave because of politics.

"It shouldn't be a political stance ... It's doing what's right." Kevin Shattenkirk, in The Athletic, today. It is NOT about politics, @nfreeman Your embarrassment at the results of your favorite party being elected does NOT mean that everything else is political.

"It shouldn't be a political stance. It'e doing what's right." Kevin Shattenkirk in The Athletic today.. @nfreemanThis is another instance that the views that you support have plunged America into darkness, and that you're embarrassed about it. That does NOT mean that every post about sports, where it might intersect with government, is political. When you censor, it is obviously biased.

Not everything related to race relations is political. Most of this wasn't. Whether someone likes or dislikes a part of a discussion doesn't render the discussion political, either. LTS, I think. I don't see the problem, either.

Many of which posts concerned social relations, sports, athletes speaking out, and not politics. Some of us were VERY careful not to mention politics in that discussion.

@PASabreFan I think that might be one of tonight's two goodnight episodes. I generally stream the first four seasons, two per night, to try to sleep. Anyway goodnight.

I am sorry/not sorry that I missed this. It would have been fun to have one, but, on the other hand, I have too much stuff as it is. Indeed, I have a Hasek sweater number retirement ceremony banner, and it just hangs off of a bookshelf. I don't really need this. Someone make a case for it in a PM and have it.

That was a press conference. The last thing PA wanted to do was answer a lot of questions.

Yep, Bass it is.

Yes, it does make a difference. What the NBA and MLB players did was player-driven, based upon their experiences and the experiences of their friends and family, in the US. It's not reasonable to assume that NHL players in the bubbles, all of whom are without those experiences, would be able to drive a similar work stoppage. Speaking of which, NBA players caved way too quickly. Each team owner (especially the owner(s) of the Bucks) has enough connections to be able to get the Governor of Wisconsin on the phone and demand action before play resumes. Same goes for MLB owners (especially the owner(s) of the Brewers. The players should have demanded that the owners do so before deciding to return. Their work stoppage is considerably less important now.

Three people doesn't shock me. The league is so active in marketing that the teams probably don't have to do much. I'm not counting social media people, game-day atmosphere people, community relations, etc.--just pure marketing. But I am VERY interested in knowing what made three people walk in this job market.

This would be glorious to me except I have the Bruins losing in the final in my bracket.

That's why I said it seems inconsistent with your ethos. But "stick to sports" is BS whether it's Chris Paul or Rex Ryan. They have a platform and should use it, just like John Carlos and Tommy Smith did. Do you complain when NHL coaches wear poppies every November? No. Problem is, when players raise a fist, people complain. When players kneel, people complain. When players have slogans on their jerseys, people complain. So now they're taking it up a notch. The power structure that controls how we police is made up of millionaires and billionaires. So the players are hitting them where it hurts, finally.

So now that we have debunked the "players won't come to Buffalo" myth, I'm sure we'll never see it again.
