  1. Nah, it's Delia. Imagine if Kim had done this:
  2. I didn't quite say that...Delia Smith, a TV chef, owns my favorite soccer team and I should have included her in the mix.
  3. You posted an extremely provocative question. You had to know you were going to be unhappy with some of the responses. Sorry that two of them came from me. But the fact is, there is no qualification to be a team president. If you're fortunate enough to own a team, you do what you want with it. Whether she's meddling--that's something we don't know. There are theories out there, and you know my position on them, and I won't repeat it here. Whether she's "qualified" to be a team president? That's easily answered. She owns it; she's qualified to be president of it, whatever "president" means.
  4. I'm just mentioning that we had these discussions when you weren't active on the board. If my answers bother you, I'm sure there's a way for you to mute me.
  5. What do you think the job of team president is? All a team president is, if not the owner, is someone else to fire.
  6. All of them are the highest authority. Whether they call themselves president or emperor or owner or janitor doesn't matter. Nevertheless, I think the answer to the question is "yes" but I'm not certain of it and I'm not going to spend time on it. We went through THIS a couple of years ago, as well, in a thread which suggested multiple layers of upper management would somehow help.
  7. Her ownership of the team. Just like the others I mentioned. So nothing.
  8. This is hilarious. The guy is as much poster a child for a used Pontiac as Ted Nolan is for a classic Mustang.
  9. Nothing. The answer is nothing. Just like Tom Golisano, John Rigas, and Seymour Knox. Just like John Henry, George Steinbrenner, Ralph Wilson, Shahid Khan, Paul Allen, (EDIT to add Delia Smith), whomever. The Jerry Joneses and Wayne Gretzkys are very rare among pro sports owners. We went through this a couple of years ago, btw.
  10. This comparison has been made on league-wide social media for at least a week (reddit) now, and it is worth thinking about.
  11. An immediate lift. Maybe not so much as a St Louis Blues Mike Yeo lift, and maybe there isn't enough time. But an immediate lift.
  12. I'd rather have you as the head of scouting.
  13. I'll always watch the Habs, and I especially like it when they Winnipeg the Jets like yesterday.
  14. ^ He needs to re-transform himself from pencil gnome to hockey player.
  15. That's great. What's their record again?
  16. I think it was a wise move to put Casey Mittlestadt in to lose faceoffs and to put in whomever it is who wears 88, some Davidson or something, to secure the loss.
  17. Never forget this. We're not on a Sabres message board because we're normal...
  18. I do, actually. I also think Jack should have more than two in his last twenty. Yet here we are, and what's the commonality?
  19. Eichel plays with scorers! Skinner does not. He plays with plugs.
  20. It isn't working out because he has VERY rarely been deployed in that role since Kruger was hired. That's why it isn't working out. I hope the gob stops smacking you.
  21. Good point. What are you doing next week? Do you happen to have a grappling hook?
  22. It's intra-division games only, this year, so teams that aren't so good don't always beat the Sabs (just often, not always), while teams that are good almost always do.
