Fixing the Sabres Long-Term - Can it be done?
Eleven replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Get a goaltender. That's how it gets fixed. All this "you can win with an average goaltender" nonsense from the last ten years is just that, nonsense. And I'm not sure the Sabres even have an average goaltender. Oh, I'd love it if the "Miller is mediocre" crowd came back having learned their lesson. -
I still think G is more important than C in the playoffs, but the Jets have that covered.
-
I don't know why this came to mind this evening, but you're welcome.
-
I had a conversation with him about shirts once. Nice enough fellow.
-
I'm not excited at the idea of Fleury coming here; it's an interesting idea but it doesn't move me. I just can't think of any other goalies "out west" that are on the block.

Hamsammich talked a bit about this yesterday. He said that when he lost his wife, he took a couple of days and then was eager to be back with his WGR "family." This makes a lot of sense to me. There is a search for some sort of "regular-ness" when grieving. Anything you can latch on to, really. While I'm sure that Ullmark is anxious for the chance to travel back to Sweden for a memorial of some sort (I have no idea what countries are allowing funerals, etc. right now), I'm also pretty sure that being around his teammates is just as important as being around his wife and son right now.

That almost has to be who Chad is talking about, right?
-
Lazar for Laine.
-
That is a big trade. Very interesting. Why? 1. He shouldn't be involved in personnel moves and 2. what Laine-quality player did the Sabres have to offer?

I will say right now that I will prefer it if Johansson takes a loss against Washington than if Hutton does. At least Johansson could benefit from the experience. Hutton cannot. -
Are you sure that's right? Doesn't he have to quarantine like Freeman did?
-
Great idea. Anyone know his first name?
-
That sux. 63 is young, too. It's especially sad that he never got to see Linus play for the Sabres live.
-
Every generation thinks they invented it.

Sometimes, hockey games are annoying rather than entertaining. This is one of those times. I'm going to eschew this for an episode of Law and Order, I think. Oh, sorry, @nfreemanLAW AND ORDER!!!!! -
Well this is a heck of a thing to wake up to. I hope he and his family are ok.

Very nice game through two. I can't watch the third, unfortunately. Skinner saw some time--and the team was rewarded for it. Hutton didn't look like a hot mess. These are positives. -

Oh, come on. -
A debate? Probably not. A discussion in which you're not required to participate unless you want to? Yes, probably because of things like this: And this: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/afc-championship-game-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-suffered-tweaked-nerve-not-concussion-per-report/
-
That didn't happen. Still, the violent stop-start can cause a concussion, I think? Medical doctors of SabreSpace?
-
Concussed from what, though? His head didn't hit anything on that play. Just his brain moving inside his head, maybe?
-
The friend I was watching the game with, this was exactly his hypothesis.

Browns got jobbed. If it wasn't obvious from yesterday that the NFL writers wanted a Bills-KC matchup, it should be now. I prefer that the Bills play a healthy Mahomes.
