Ok. I've gotten to know him and I still don't want the Sabres to hire him. If they're going to go with a newbie, go with the newbie they already have. Otherwise, I want them to hire a coach with experience as a head coach in the NHL.

I'm not aggravated by that. If the Bills were the second game, and I didn't get to see the start of it, then I'd be aggravated. It was SO stupid. It only lasted for a year or two. Everyone--sports radio, newspapers, the proverbial guy on the street, the announcers during games--hated it.

Two of them are, actually. That's how penalties worked (although I don't remember what triggered a penalty). If your team was penalized, you'd put the defenseman behind that barrier, and the barrier would (supposedly) ensure that the puck would remain in play.

There is a cadre here that thinks that building from the net out fell out of fashion. It didn't. If she can afford The Taft School and Harvard, she can afford a vowel.

How does one pronounce that? And her accent is harsh, but her comments are right on. I do need a little more Canadian lilt in the accent, though. Maybe we can get dudacek to work with her or something.

I don't know who is commenting the TB-CAR game, but she's better than most NBC color commenters and is a LOT better than Rob Ray.

Montreal is not "built for the playoffs." Montreal has Carey Price. That team isn't going to beat freaking Winnipeg (as you say) because Hellebyuck is better than Price. And that's it. And whichever one comes out of it is going to face a reckoning from a team that IS built for the playoffs.

If it's going to be offense, it should be a tight end and not another receiver. They're set at receiver. I wouldn't mind an upgrade in the backfield but I don't see it happening, and I think that McDermott is ok with his line. I could see a defensive back.

The Leaves have been irrelevant for far longer than the Sabres have. The last time they made a run, the Sabres took them out in 5. They just get a lot of attention, is all. I don't really hate them in the way that I hate the Flyers or Bruins, or even Senators.
