  1. But he knows the people who are in-the-know, Swamp.
  2. This is just factually incorrect. Nothing "stopped" in October 2014. Multiple buildings have gone up since. Many restaurants have opened and closed since. I don't think you're connected with in-the-know people either; I would know if you were. Enjoy the Ohio of the South.
  3. Loving all of the "Vegas in 3" memes I saw on reddit last week.
  4. You live in Charlotte or some such place. There is nothing in the business district there, either. Except for chain restaurants. And nothing, anywhere in the world, has been redone in the last two years. I hinted at it upthread, maybe you're not picking up on it, but there was this world-wide pandemic thing. You are not enhancing your return to Sabrespace by spouting nonsense about Buffalo, especially when you don't know anything about it anymore. I only remember two of those, you old man. (I just wasn't into football in 1980. It still was all hockey for me back then.) EDIT: Oh, wait, was that the Ferguson v Chargers year? I remember that!
  5. 1. You seem to be forgetting the arena, the stadium, and the theaters. 2. There's more to do in downtown Buffalo's business district than in that of many other cities, even cities considerably larger than Buffalo. You just don't know about it unless you live here.
  6. Get well #14!
  7. Yes.
  8. From the team's perspective, I think it is the only factor. From Eichel's perspective, well, I wonder if he is using the insistence upon surgery to try to get away.
  9. Yeah, it's been like sixteen months since something new downtown opened. Wonder why.
  10. They won the division in one of them, and made the playoffs in another.
  11. I think you're right, even though he has more bargaining power than Eichel has.
  12. *Before* Sunday if it's "within the week"; before next Friday if he said or meant to say "within a week."
  13. “He would be in my top 5 most difficult players to deal with. He is not a very nice person.... He always seems like he’s in a growly mood no matter who he’s dealing with. I’ve seen him be extremely rude with team personnel also.” --This is according to another board. Here is the interview: https://www.sportsnet.ca/650/peoples-show/paul-hamilton-canucks-linked-sam-reinhart-possible-sabres-moves/
  14. Perfect for a non-major league team.
  15. And an elite coach. [grinning devil emoji again]
  16. It was a great trade. The Sabres got a solid defenseman (Regehr), a shootout specialist (return of Kotalik), and a second-round pick (McCabe) for an undersized C prospect (Byron) and a third-pair defenseman (Butler). Tough to find fault with that. But Byron is in the third round, and the Sabres haven't made the playoffs.
  17. Neither. If that happens, I'd say it's because Adams pulled off some amazing trades. The tank is 7 years ago now.
  18. [grinning devil emoji]
  19. Oh yes they did. I think it was the Pens and Devils in a chase to the bottom. Paging @Taro T
  20. A "tank" is for one player. Penguins for Lemieux. Senators for Daigle. Colts for Luck. You're confusing it with a rebuild. The tank failed. The rebuild is ongoing more than half a decade later.
  21. And Byron and Staal. And Carrier and maybe one or two others. Now, Carrier was lost in the expansion draft, so I'm not so sure what the Sabres could have done there. Byron was part of a fair trade for Regehr and Kotalik, and now he wears an A for the most storied team in hockey. (Notably, that trade was part of the reason the Sabres were so thin at C in the early 10s--he was a center prospect when traded.) Armia was part of the Kane trade that ended up being a lose-lose situation, though.
  22. This is the dumbest thing I have read--even in the Post--in a long time.
  23. That Karlsson hit is a penalty in any regular season game and possibly a phone call from Toronto.
  24. I knew that *someone* watched that movie. I just didn't know whom. Now I know.
