  1. @rwesthead Spoke to NHL team exec today relatively new to hockey world. Past experience in NBA. Shocked NHL hasn't seized control of Blackhawks investigation. Sees potential to tarnish team/league image. Exec: "There's no doubt Adam [Silver] would be taking control if this was an NBA team."
  2. It's based mostly on the Buchnevich trade, which makes no sense unless the Rags are in on Eichel, which in turn makes no sense unless the Sabs get Lafreniere.
  3. Oh most definitely.
  4. I gave a thumbs up, but I don't think this thread is going to last much longer. My bet is that Lafreniere will be headed to Buffalo by the start of the draft.
  5. Chyron on Ch. 2 just now: "US sees spike in demand for vaccines." Finally. I hope the growing demand remains.
  6. It has to be. Honestly I see the Sabres flipping this guy or waiving him and sending him to Roch at some point.
  7. Hi, me from fifteen years ago. Have fun tonight! PS: Don't even bother with that one chick from Clarence. She's not as good as she looks and she'll be a thorn in your side forever when you break up with her. Signed, future you.
  8. Oh yeah. I'd set the O/U at 25.5 for games played as a Sabre right now.
  9. From Reddit, re Rangers:
  10. Found on Reddit from a Phlyer fan: "Hagg's kinda like finding a burnt fry in your onion rings. It isn't good, but it's a nice little addition"
  11. I haven't been so not excited about a draft in a long time. I feel like whatever they do, my reaction will be "meh."
  12. I'm with you. One of the few things I enjoyed about last season was the division-only schedule. Those games aren't really locked in, though; there is no reason why they have to play home and away against every team in the league. I think that just a few seasons ago, they only played one game against the West teams, and it was home OR away. And they don't need to play everyone every season; they could make like MLB or NFL and be selective. That would, however, destroy your preference of seeing every team here in a season.
  13. You missed a word (I think you were talking about whether he played *well* in the playoffs) and he did: 5 points, 3 goals in 11 games, and he did really well in the first series. I don't like that Adams got fleeced, either, but Hall was fine once he moved on.
  14. Oh boy. I'm leaving this as a link instead of embedding the tweet for a reason. Trigger warning and I mean it. https://twitter.com/benpopecst/status/1418325746884431873?s=21
  15. Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. If it was made in a lab, it wasn't made in an American lab, and I'm not sure what he means about Fauci "also a part of Pfizer." That's not the only vaccine available in America, and I would bet that most people with any type of retirement plan own "a part of Pfizer" if that's what Feliciano means. He can either be a good teammate or get lost, right there with Cole. Both are replaceable (Feliciano less so). Allen is the one I'm really worried about.
  16. I love it. I'm so happy that the NHL is returning to the Winter Olympics that I might have to watch it even though it's in China.
  17. Sorry, I just can't agree with this, especially when the team is going to trade Eichel and has the opportunity to get an absolute stud as part of the return.
  18. I think you're misinterpreting me maybe? A 90 point pace isn't good enough for the team to make the playoffs or do anything meaningful. They need to be better at nearly every position, including the two goaltender spots.
  19. At no point did I say the team shouldn't sign Ullmark. I said that he ideally is a backup.
  20. Let's not absolve Cole Beasley of being an idiot, while we're at it.
