  1. Your last two sentences are unproven and probably incorrect. Do you see the problem with your "batshit crazy" conclusion now?
  2. Yep. High risk and high reward.
  3. The latest proposal I saw had Mack coming back from Chicago via a three-way deal with New Orleans. Don't get me wrong, I love Khalil Mack, but the Bills really need to protect against an injury to Allen.
  4. Right? I'm not even going to try to watch tonight. In fact, I'm deliberately going to avoid it. I can't have another night like last Thursday, when I was awake until 1.
  5. Good point. I think we can eliminate that factor.
  6. Wow. I had no idea until this post encouraged me to google it.
  7. It's really difficult to say. Fehr was appointed executive director in De member 2010, but he was involved before that. And we don't know when Beach approached the union--or even whether he was a member of it.
  8. The most Rangeresque part of this whole thing.
  9. She was raised atheist but is not an atheist anymore. Not sure when she changed. That's nice, and glad you had fun. This thread is for sports.
  10. It was a boring game, and at no point was I worried that the Bills would lose it. No they don't, no they don't, yes they did, which is the point that destroys the first two, and no it wouldn't.
  11. Let's keep this misery to the appropriate thread, ok?
  12. Just a few observations. 1. This team was without energy and boring. This isn't like the Boston loss. This is "hey, we won one in OT so let's not bother too hard tonight, ok, boys?" Terrible, and that's on the captains. 2. Cozens is the de facto 1C while Pullup and Attitude Problem are out. That means he can't get sucked into 5-minute majors by the likes of Lemieux. Shape up, kid. 3. Rasmus A. and Oloffson continue to punch above their weight classes.
  13. So far, this is somehow more boring than the first quarter of the Bills game.
  14. You responded to a post that was about the bystander effect, FFS. Geez.
  15. Price
  16. Finally another person who filters data through logic rather than virtue signaling has appeared.
  17. Easy, brother. Curt is a really good poster and he did point out something there.
  18. Ah, I misunderstood... so they'd have to build a whole new ring. Makes sense. So then they should be able to scratch through the name on the existing Cups.
  19. Whistleblower laws don't address the bystander effect that Scott is talking about, though. For those unfamiliar, the bystander effect refers to the very real phenomenon that when there are many people witnessing a situation, all assume that someone else is going to take action. A classic example is a mugging on a busy city street: The bystanders all stand and stare, thinking that someone else is going to intervene; meanwhile, the victim gets knocked on her head and her purse is stolen. It's the NHL, not the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Can't it do whatever it wants?
  20. Someone on WGR just articulated the awesome idea that Aldrich's name should remain on the Cup, but should be defaced with a line through it or scratched through or something, so that everyone who sees the Cup wonders why and finds out. It's a great idea. It's better than removing it.
  21. Shutouts are usually partially a product of the defense and partially a product of goaltending. 4 shutouts in 7 games, though, is impressive no matter what.
  22. He's gonna have a tough time breaking all of the records while he's winning a Calder and a Vezina next year.
  23. Damn. $70 for a season pass for AHL TV.
  24. Yeah I get you. I don't necessarily think it was nefarious. I don't want them to have anything nice.
