  1. I thought we all kind of knew that but didn't really care because he was in a Sabres uniform and not destroying the team.
  2. Pardon me if this already has been asked and answered, but why are they taking a weekend off?
  3. $5K per DPS.
  4. He might throw a Marchand head to me? I'm ok with this, aside from the whole murder part.
  5. The length is fine, and the width also is fine when you take into account the absolutely massive amount of space between an NFL sideline and the stands. I don't think a US international match will be held there unless it is against Canada, though.
  6. What if I smash a racket over Marchand's head when he is in the stands watching the US Open and I also am in the stands watching? And my snack is better than his and he comes over to mooch off of me? Like, I have crudités and hummus and dip, but he only has popcorn? EDIT: Oh, and for some reason I have a racket. And Marchand has a head.
  7. No one said anything about infields. But it does happen in the field of play, all the time, just not usually in fair territory (which should make sense). I'll let @Curt handle the tennis. All I can say is that I've seen it happen repeatedly without penalty, again, at a pretty high-end tournament. The article seems to support the fact that it is not penalized even though it is illegal. In any event, I think we're getting to the point of quibbling. Certainly there are sports where players abuse the equipment without penalty; there are a few examples now. I'm not sure any of the examples have any bearing on what should or should not happen in the NHL anyway.
  8. I don't think we're trying to misrepresent your words. In baseball, players can and do smash their bats on the ground repeatedly, is all. And I've now mentioned squash and Curt has brought in tennis. I know racket sports aren't nearly as popular as hockey, but they are still sports...
  9. Alabama is in Genessee County.
  10. I had thought of tennis, but I think you covered that above and you definitely know that rule better than I do! I have seen squash players smash their racquets against the wall without penalty in internationally-sanctioned tournaments, too, come to think of it. Bo's was the best.
  11. Absolutely. And lesser specimens slam their bats on the ground after strikeouts and pop flies all the time.
  12. You are correct. I wasn't going to get all clothes-snobby, but an NHL head coach really should be wearing bespoke stuff.
  13. THIS THREAD MAKES ME MAD. SMASH STICK.
  14. Two of them are awfully close to that already. Thompson probably will hit it. Skinner, it's gonna be tough, but next year, certainly.
  15. I wanted to wait about a year before evaluating him, and we're just past that mark now. Given my standard for coaches, "can he do more with less," the answer has to be that yes, he is the best coach since Ruff. He has turned around a player like Thompson just like Ruff did with Briere, for example. And it looks like he took the training wheels off this team at just the right time. Now, it's time to give him some real goaltending, bring up the kids, and watch this team surprise the rest of the league next year. (Oh, and judging from that tweet, maybe get him a better tailor, too.)
  16. If it interferes with play or restarting play, delay of game; otherwise, no.
  17. That was so, so nice, watching them fight back and succeed!
  18. Oh I had no idea.
  19. Here's that part:
  20. If the private and not public entity is responsible for overruns, I would bet that there will be much more care to ensure that there aren't many.
  21. Spencer Knight last year.
