Dominik Hasek was 6'1". Ben Bishop is 6'7". I don't care that Levi is one inch shorter than Hasek just like I don't care that Bishop is six inches taller.

I guess I'll root for Minnesota? I don't like most of the other teams in the mix.

Well, if those ***** make the playoffs, it might be 24.

Thanks. I'm thinking it might be as simple as a better windscreen. -
Did not realize the Sabres were 31st in attendance...pathetic

The team was horrible for four months (and started six different goaltenders) and depends, more than any other team in the league, on cross-border traffic. I'm not too worried. -

This team is so much fun to watch again. Hey @SwampD, a sound engineering question for you: Can MSG do anything to tone down the whistling sound when Jeanneret pronounces the letter S? And if so, why aren't they? -
This, for me, too. Also, my father was in sales and had access to the company tickets. When the Sabres played an unpopular opponent like Colorado or Cleveland or something, and the tickets weren't in demand, he would take us to games.

Now I have to wonder who the third one is going to be.

1. Not for long. 2. It's still a useless position.

I have said forever that the Sabres never should have fired Ruff. And I still think I'm right. It's nine years and counting since that supposed cure was to work. That was supposed to be the magic thing, right? Just get a new coach? Yeah, we've seen them go through five or six or whatever before finally, we have another good one. (I can't imagine what the new generation of Sabres fans will to do Donny G once he hits two pairs of conference championship series.) But this is his last season in NJ. I am certain of that. He will not be back, and unless he has elite boomer powers, he will be out of the league. Lindy won't be recycled like certain Canada coaches are. I hate watching it end this way. But I loved Power scoring his first goal against Ruff. A passing of the torch, maybe.

As it should be. Anyway, back to Johnson; are there any rumblings that he is unhappy with Buffalo and will enter free agency a year from August?
-
I still think that if the Sabres had told him that he would be the captain the following season, as they should have, he would have wanted to be here. And I, too, am glad Tage is here.

This isn't the right question, with everyone at their present ages and Johnson's apparent unwillingness to sign with Buffalo (he may feel differently about elsewhere, which he can explore soon). The Sabres finally have centers now, have replaced ROR's leadership with Tuch's, and the situations are completely different than they were four years ago. And the Blues got their Cup. Would the Sabres have been a playoff team with ROR as captain? That's the better question. And I think yes. Who knows what O'Reilly could have done as captain of the Sabres. Maybe Mittlestadt would have learned how to play a little earlier. Maybe not.

Enhancing the offense starts in the very back, in goal. With better goaltending, the Sabres can and will be more aggressive. This has been the team's identity since about 1973 and I don't see a reason to change from it.

Lanny!

It is one of the worst trades in Sabres history. Are you kidding? On edit, let us revisit the return: --Tage Thompson, who has had one heck of a season that we all wish he repeats, and who was almost universally bemoaned before October 2021. --Vladimir Sobotka, who was a zero. --Patrilk Berglund, who could play Robert Downey Jr.'s part in "Less than Zero." --A last-first-round pick, Ryan Johnson, who may not ever play for the Sabs. --A way-in-the-future pick (at time of trade) that happened to be swapped, with another Sabres pick, for Colin Miller. For a Conn Smythe winner and captain of a contender thereafter. In what world would you do it again?

That sux but thank you.

You live in Pennsylvania. Why do you care what we are spending our tax dollars on? Do we tell you what Pennsylvania should do? And more to the point, if you think the arena doesn’t need a makeover—not cosmetic surgery but a makeover—you just might qualify to be an NHL ref.

Agreed. But with those odds, I want them in the lottery.

There is a 2.1% chance that they could move into 6 or 7if the season ended today: https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds

There is this one guy after Hall...I think his name is John or something. But yes. Agreed.

He didn't want to play hockey. He wanted to make music and clothing. Which is FINE. But he had to ***** on Buffalo after signing that contract. What an *****.
