  1. No and never. "Conference finals" or "conference final" is just stupid. End of discussion, Barb.
  2. The article--which I can't seem to come up with right now--was about how Buffalo arguably--please consider that adverb--had the best player in each of three leagues: NHL (Perreault), NFL (Simpson), NBA (McAdoo). So if we triangulate those three, about 1976 or so?
  3. Perreault was arguably the best player in the league at a point in his career (Sports Illustrated certainly thought so). Hasek definitely was. Miller never was. And I like Ryan Miller an awful lot.
  4. Pernell Karl is one of my favorite non-Sabres of all time, but I'm not sure about this idea right now.
  5. Correct. I also have TB and COL in the final, but I got a lot wrong on the way there.
  6. Well, we've got a fun matchup here. @jsb leads, with 339 points, and has picked Colorado. I don't think that @pastajoe, who is only one point behind and who also has picked Colorado, can catch jsb. @Andrew Amerkand @Huckleberry each have 333 and each picked Tampa. So if Tampa wins, we're headed to a tiebreaker.
  7. I really want to know why Kakko was benched.
  8. Good. F the Rags.
  9. Your point, which also is mine, stands regardless. Number retirement shouldn't be so cheap.
  10. You know what to do here. Also, edited now, because we did not go back in time even if it feels that way.
  11. Should be reserved for Hall-of-Fame-Plus level players who spent the majority of their careers with the team.
  12. Does anyone need a recap of my thoughts on numbers being retired? If so, let me know. This is stupid.
  13. The guy punched someone else, too. He is facing multiple charges. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/rangers-fan-arrested-for-brutal-sucker-punch-of-tampa-fan-after-game-5-loss/3729041/
  14. There's definitely someone with a sportcoat and a badge, but I can't tell if he works for MSG, for one of the teams, for the press, for a vendor, for ... It still would have been nice if he had stopped to do something. I think a lot of us can say that we're fortunate to have escaped our early-to-mid 20s.
  15. I don't see any jocular responses here--maybe on twitter?
  16. 1. That's not a fight. 2. Did they get the guy? It's on top of Penn Station.
  17. Oh. I thought he was the one who made that really bad rom com about the Sox winning a World Series, and then they did, or something.
  18. Isn't he a notable Boston dude?
  19. Why don't you call your friends downstate and tell them that some of us want to go to bed? And that maybe they should let one in because screw NYC. EDIT, 1 minute later...that was a quick phone call! Thanks.
  20. 1. Okay, good, all I've heard are radio ads. 2. NFTs can work the same way as any other tradable commodity where two people agree that it is worth something. A baseball card, a comic book, a beer can, artwork, whatever. Think carefully about that last example--modern art is as valuable as people agree that it is, and not more or less. 3. That said, I think it's stupid. I'm not putting money into NFTs for the same reason that I don't put it into baseball cards or modern art. Putting money into baseball cards at age 8 is one thing. Doing it at age 50, where we're just going to depend upon the whims of others, is another. For those of you who trade in such stuff, and I am sure there are many, this isn't an insult; it's just not where I'm going to invest. At least baseball cards and comic books have established markets and prices. This NFT stuff? Nope.
  21. Well, because they're protesting the evil PGA! Didn't you read Mickelson's statement? (In all fairness to FIGJAM, both the US and Canada enable SA in so many ways that are innumerable and unconscionable.)
  22. It's a Draft Kings thing and he's probably being paid up front, if Draft Kings has any money left. Same response...this is like being paid to sign at a card show only he doesn't have to get off the couch and the card isn't physical.
  23. I suppose I must admit it. Doesn't mean I have to care about it, though.
  24. Closing on the sale of my house just got postponed again and I really just want this to be over with.
