So art shrines, which save exactly as many lives as sports shrines, are more worthy? Seriously, where are you going here?

Inquiries into the giving activities of the wealthy seem to inevitably result in this type of goalpost moving, which is exactly why the initial shot across the bow of the Pegula yacht (not by you) was not in good faith. There are tons of kids who skate at HarborCenter, which I doubt is profitable. There are tons of events at Kleinhans Music Hall, and I am certain that isn’t profitable. Maybe someday someone will give a momentous speech at Pegula Arena or whatever it’s called at Penn State, like MLK once did at Kleinhans. Maybe not. Either way, I think it is doubtless that the wealthy contributing to cultural institutions—whether the culture be sport, music, visual arts, etc.—is noble. Sorry it’s not a hospital this time.

They have. Those causes are Penn State athletics, Buffalo pro sports, and Buffalo COVID relief, as far as we know. Now someone will ask why they aren't donating publicly to a food bank or building a hospital instead. It never ends. I wonder whether the same questions were asked of Mary Seaton Kleinhans (who directed her funds to cultural institutions rather than hospitals) or Ralph Wilson (who wasn't exactly philanthropic while on this side of the dirt).

Yes, he certainly owes you and PA an explanation of what he does with his wealth.

Was the USA game on NHLN?
-
There's no point in bridging him early, and I can't see him agreeing to 6-8 years at 4-5 mil.

Trolla gonna troll

It has begun. US v Germany at 8pm tonight. TV unknown because NHLN hasn't updated its site and IIHF's site is predictably *****.

The answer is in the linked article.

The articles I read yesterday suggest otherwise. Here's one of them: https://thehockeynews.com/news/could-the-islanders-trade-mathew-barzal-to-make-room-for-nazem-kadri IF, and that is an if, they want Kadri, they are going to have to make some sacrifices. Trading Barzal a year from free agency for a mid-round pick may be less painful than trading Bailey and a draft pick for future considerations.

I am very optimistic about this kid and I hope I'm right. -
This never works. I'm not sure about this. (I'm also not sure you're wrong.) Seems that the problems in Cleveland go way deeper than Beckham.
-
Probably not much. They're gonna have to dump someone (him or Bailey) if they want Kadri.
-
Not unless Diggs is injured. Beckham isn't going to be the guy who plays up and down the lineup, as we hockey folks say. He wants to be 1. Which is fine, except the Bills already have Diggs.
-
Yeah, well you're why Arthur is carving sandwiches instead of pursuing women.
-
Marvin, that is addressed right in the tweet!
-
If you want a rent-a-center, what about Barzal? He might be available cheap if the Isles want Kadri. UFA in two years and RFA next summer. And the Sabres don’t care about the cap this year.
-
Look at Aristotle over here… He’s done. So is most of that generation of coaches. Time to pass the torches.

There’s not enough of a body of work to answer this, which is kind of what I said when the Sabres acquired him. He could be a diamond in the rough, and he cluld be a JAG. GIven that he had an NHL job, I doubt that he will be disaster . -

He plays better in Buffalo than in Rochester, but that isn't a voting option. If he gets called up, he'll do okay-or-better here. If he doesn't, he will do okay-or-worse in Rochester. -
good enough for me...

^ This part, too. About a month ago, for me, but others may take this exercise at their own paces. -
Are you certain? EZ-Pass is not NYS-specific, and it very well may be an outside vendor.
