The Gary Thorne call after the no goal haunted me for years. I think you're right though. All 3 guys just fan boy over Crosby and the Pens its disgusting.
If Eichel does end up with that type of deal right out of his ELC it likely means his production calls for it so in that case i'd be all for it. Go Jack!
That being $7.5 mil
Why is the assumption from some that Eichel and Reinhart will get $8-10 mil in their second contracts? If they are our Toews and Kane, which IMO they are, I could see them getting similiar contracts to Toews and Kane. Both got matching $6.3 million dollar contracts between their entry level deals and their current contracts and both had stanley cups sitting on their negotiating tables as well. It's a bit assuming to think Jack or Sam will completely skip the next level of contract IMO
I just feel RORs career 53% face off is better than Stamkos 48% and ROR has a little better all around game. If anything i'd like to see Stamkos share faceoffs with Jack and play LW with him and Reinhart. IMO Stamkos will have the biggest impact on the Sabres by finding creases in his shooting lanes and receiving feeds from the wonder twins.
I think Murray should tell Stamkos he will be primarily a wing with the occasional game situation or injury moving him to center. Be honest with him right up front and don't give in to his demands(if Stamkos is not open to wing) If he balks, move on.
I think this is where i'm at in regards to Risto also. I like him fine and could see them doing an 8 yr contract around $44 mil but a bridge deal would give him more time to figure out what kind of player he'll be and save a couple mil on the cap for other contracts or additions. GMTM will need to get it right.
Regarding the above post by Wildcard. That's exactly why GMTM doesn't like to draft russians, there's always the threat of the KHL hanging over their heads. Granted alot of Russians stay and play without issue but it's tough to really know who's gonna bolt at any time
