I would ask how much of the other players production is due to mcdavid clearing ice or creating offense for them? Eichel can and does impact the offense just by being on the ice. Enough to make up the diff, idk. Gorges is on the last year of his deal and was brought in as a much needed grit guy to get them through the lean years and he did his job, imo. For me it's not so much that I overvalued PLF, I realized he had to go for years but looking back at it even at a diminished rate he was still worth more than that jackass peters was.
