i get what you are saying but even the great King Henrik has been benched a spell this season in favor of Raanta. Lehner should sit a few games and see what happens, if Nilsson stays hot it lasts a little longer. Nilsson regresses to lesser form, go back to the bench and start Lehner. Like others suggested, it could help him steel himself a bit. If he wilts like a flower he's unworthy anyways. good points also true, unfortunately

Jack cannot go into every scrum along the boards the way he would if uninjured because every defender in the league is applying knees and sticks to the injured area in those scrums and it will never heal like that. at some point he has to cut em loose,doesn't he? I'm afraid he'll be gone before he realizes that. he hates the Sabres

I don't disagree that it would be nice to see more from Jack but again I caution that you are disregarding the the injury. That type of injury can linger and pushing too hard can result in strain/pain which to the naked eye results in lazy play but in reality is probably a result of needing to back off some to protect the injury. I think Jack is struggling with it right now amd can't push it hard every shift. IMO

I hear you and Eichel has said as much also, expects more from himself. Question is, how much has to do with his injury. Everything you mentioned (besides the passing) takes barring down, will his leg even allow it? I'm thinking no and i'd rather have Jack at 75% than not at all. JMO
