Saw Steve Ott behind the St Louis bench coaching up the boys. Got me thinking. What kind of HC will Ott be?

I'm going back to my original proposal for Ullmark 2×4.5. It gives both sides flexibility and there's still potential for a 5×5or higher later on. The deal gives the team a chance to grow together into a contender. If the team doesn't get better, he has a chance to get out by the deadline year two. If they are a playoff team, and he's the reason then reward him with the next contract and a raise.

It's time for someone to do a deep dive into the coaching candidates available. What makes Gallant or Boudreau or whoever else shakes loose the coach to take the team to the next level? I will admit I was clamoring for an "experienced" coach like Boudreau or Gallant or someone to come in and snap these guys to it, get em set straight about the way to play the game! But the game, as much as it stays the same, has changed. Today there are more young players than ever before and with analytics and video sessions the way they are coached has changed as well. Does that open the door for a different type of coach? If not Granato should someone besides the big name vets be considered? Who? So many questions, hope Adams is asking them and more.

These two would be the FA targets. Coming off of two playoff runs on a great team like Tampa, they would be invaluable. I'd love it if they could shake someone loose because of the unique combo of flat cap and expansion draft in trade. I'm not ready to name names but if a team like Anaheim for example needed to trade Rakell, well I'm making an offer. Coleman has all around game, he's not a one trick pony

Does anyone think the Sabres can convince Barclay Goodrow and Blake Coleman to sign here next season? Are they due big raises? Would the contracts be prohibitive? Fresh off another deep playoff run they would be perfect for this lineup IMO. They can guide the kids on the path to the playoffs while providing some much needed toughness.

I thought UPL was good. The late goals were more a product of the team, including him, losing a little focus at the end and trying to coast home against a good team. Congrats on your first win Ukko!!
