This whole situation has become one big ***** up mess with no end in sight. The team should allow whatever surgery their team doctors agree is best. Surgery has been recommended but is that for the purposes of getting the player back to the ice sooner, or because it's the only course of action that will heal the injury? I still wonder if rest will eventually heal the injury? The longer he goes without playing or physical contact the "healthier" he should be, no?

It's shaping up to be a good year for that. Should be plenty of young talent to watch.

It's a scrimmage with a mixed bag of near professionals on the ice so not getting carried away but JJP definitely didn't look out of place. He was in first almost every time down and gave the defense fits all night trying to move the puck. I'm looking forward to his development!! I hope they don't force him into the Sabres lineup but if he keeps playing like he did when there is more NHL talent on the ice I think he will be the one doing the forcing.

Wow. Peterka just chased down/created 3 turnovers in a row leading to Cozens missing the net. I may have a new favorite.

The PDQ line showed a little but. Too bad 2/3 of them should be in Rochester this season. They got hemmed in on a long shift too, leading to a Peterka penalty.

Happy to get back to real game situations. The scrimmages were a little hard to watch. Mersch is a long time AHL guy. Hard worker, sacrifices himself alot. JAG really but a good pro for the kids to learn from.

I think he'll be up and down this season but show enough to get fans excited about his future.

Good share LGR. These guys may end up being huge contributors in future playoff runs. I get its hyperbole but it's all I got right now. The skill is there though.

Career year. He's refreshed, back from injury with a new wife and daughter since he last played a game so he has some extra pep in his step.

So he failed his physical. Does that mean surgery is the only way to repair the injury or could it still heal with rest? I know the Sabres prefer the fusion but are they recommending surgery? Could he potentially rest and rehab until say January? Then he could come back a couple weeks for Buffalo before playing in the Olympics? That would give teams a chance to see if he's healthy and allow him to play in the Olympics which he said are important to him. If teams aren't going to trade for an injured player then Eichel better heal up one way or the other if he wants out.
